Description
High Performance Torque Converter. The Boss Hog LS 6L80E Night Stalker Series Lock-Up Torque Converter with a 35-spline input and a stall speed range approximately between 1,600 and 2,200 RPM combines advanced engineering for reliable power transfer and optimized vehicle performance. It is designed to improve stall speed and lock-up efficiency, enhancing driving characteristics for GM LS engines equipped with 6L80E or 6L90E gas transmissions. This torque converter contributes to powertrain efficiency and durability by effectively managing torque multiplication and transmission heat.
Construction and Appearance. Featuring a factory 12.5 inch core and a hardened chrome moly impeller hub, this converter incorporates a 36 spline modified heavy duty stator for durability and heat dissipation. Torrington style incased bearings and oversized extreme duty lock-up components provide enhanced reliability. The unit is precision digitally balanced, leak and pressure tested, and assembled using either tac-welded fins or furnace brazing techniques to ensure structural integrity and consistent performance.
Installation. Installation requires mechanical experience but does not involve drilling or modifications to the transmission. It is a direct fit replacement for compatible vehicles, with bolt patterns and pilot sizes manufactured to OEM specifications for proper mounting and alignment.
Application. Designed specifically to fit 2009–2014 Chevrolet Tahoe models equipped with a 6-speed transmission, providing proper compatibility and performance within this application.
