The Barricade 5-inch Oval Side Step Bars here in black will be for the 2015 and newer super crew owners out there looking to go big but on a budget. Now, these extremely popular steps will feature a combination of heavy-duty stainless steel 5-inch oval tubing, along with that 60-degree end design for right around 150 bucks for the pair, making them currently the most affordable option on the site in this size. Now installation according to the site will get a soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. All the simple bolt-on job shouldn't take you any longer than an hour or so to complete from start to finish. All right, gang, you are currently looking at one of the most popular sidestep options on the site with well over 105-star reviews. And by the way, I highly encourage you to read up on some of those reviews if you haven't done so already to help you with your buying decision. Now the reason these guys are so popular is two-fold, right? You're getting an extremely solid build and material thanks to the full stainless steel, but most importantly, you are getting it at an extremely affordable price. Again, right around 150 bucks here for the pair, which is gonna be very hard to come by in the land of aftermarket sidesteps, especially when we're talking about things 5-inches or even larger. So we've talked about the materials with that full stainless build, but one thing I do want to focus on here is that 5-inch oval design because not only is that going to make for a bunch of real estate for you or your family to help get in and out of the truck, but it's also gonna help contribute to the appearance a little bit more once installed. Another big thing to point out here guys is that this will also help save your doors from random things in parking lots. This is something a lot of people don't really think about because the amount these things actually stick out from the side of your truck to help you with your step, but also they're gonna act as a first line of defense from careless owners who just swing those doors open with no remorse for who or what they hit, and the barricades here will help protect your truck from that. But getting back to some of the finer details here with the Barricade 5-inch options traction wise, well, you are getting two sizable nonslip plastic pads here for both front and rear passengers which do ride on top of that 5-inch oval design. By the way, guys, each step here does carry a 350 pound capacity per side. You're also gonna notice the 60 degree ends here with this particular sidestep. You're gonna curve back into that cab and give what I think is a little bit more of a finished look in addition to that set in black powder coat. Now here is where you have a few different options. For one, you can grab these in a polished finish instead for a little bit more dough and honestly, they might be a better fit for the chrome package owners out there, guys with a little bit more flash going on with their truck. You can also grab these with a straight bar design, meaning you're essentially eliminating the 60-degree ends and giving it more of the street look so you do have a couple of options when shopping for the barricades in the 5-inch diameter. But now let's segue into the installation. And guys, thanks for the bolt-on design and included bracketry. You'll be looking at the very, very easy day in the shop or driveway. And to give you a better idea of what you're in for, here is Tony with a detailed walkthrough along with the quick tool breakdown.Tony: Tools used for this installation are as follows. We have a ratchet with a 13-millimeter socket. All right, now we're gonna get started with the install of our sidesteps on our F-150, and to do that, first, we gotta get our brackets installed. Well, we're just gonna go ahead and install them loosely because, once we get our sidestep on, we're gonna need to make a few adjustments to make sure everything lines up perfectly. Now to install them inside the body, underneath our rocker panel, there are studs already installed. There's gonna be nine of them, three on each bracket. Our kit does come with new washers and locking nuts, so let's go ahead and get that all together, get those in place, then we'll move on from there. Get our step installed, tighten everything up, and we should be good to go. All right, now these three studs here is where our bracket's gonna hook to, so you can go ahead slide that up in the place. Secure it down with our washers and lock nuts that come in the kit. Well, we're gonna leave this slightly loose for now until we get our sidestep on. This way, we have that little bit of adjustment to make sure they fit just right. Now, we're just gonna run these down a little bit with our 13-millimeter socket on our ratchet. All right, now we're just gonna repeat that for all three brackets on driver's side and then when you go over to your passenger side, it's the exact same steps. Now, when they made these brackets, they made all the brackets exactly the same so you don't have to worry about getting them mixed up from left to right or front and back. All right, now we're ready to go ahead and get our step tube in place. Now once we do that, we're gonna go ahead and install our hardware coming from underneath the bracket up and through it like so, but make sure that you use your flat washer and your lock washer when installing this. Now we're gonna tighten this down with the same 13-millimeter as we used on our brackets, but once these are all on, we'll go ahead and get our brackets tightened up, then we'll get our step tighten down. Now with all of our hardware installed, we can go ahead and tighten up our brackets to the body. After that, we go ahead and tighten our step down to the brackets. Now we can go ahead and tighten up our steps. Now that's all it takes to install the sidesteps. Now for more parts and videos just like these, make sure you visit us right here at americantrucks.com.
