Installing 2014-2017 blow off valves on your GMC Sierra enables building the boost pressure up higher, since you needn’t worry about damaging the turbocharger or supercharger with too much pressure when there’s an added in safety release. Today’s blow-off valves are made from advanced materials such as high-strength military grade or aircraft grade aluminum alloy. They feature mechanical, vacuum activated operation so that there are no electronics to fail or go haywire – the valve will do its job any time the pressure goes above the preset limit. These valves stabilize boost function, too, giving you a razor-sharp throttle response when they’re in place. AmericanTrucks has several different types of premium blow-off valves and you can pick between types that simply vent the extra pressure and recirculating BOVs that keep blow-off sound a lot lower by releasing the surplus pressure back into the intake stream.
