Description
Understanding Gear Ratios. Gear ratios are not merely numbers that a manufacturer arbitrarily puts on parts. They are important to understanding why your Tahoe performs like it does. The EXCEL from Richmond 4.10 Rear Ring and Pinion Gear Kit have a higher number which means your driveshaft will rotate 4.1 times in relation to one rotation of your tires. This higher gear set is excellent for hauling a boat or trailer, but may not return the gas mileage that a gear set with a lower number would give.
Precision Machined. These gears are tough. They are made for 8620, first run steel which means there is no recycled steel in the mix and thus a purer and stronger casting. Gears need to be tough so this is important. These gears are also heat tempered to increase their hardness and thus wear ability and then precision machined and lapped for a tight fit, smooth operation and quiet performance.
Professional Installation Recommended. The installation of Ring and Pinon Gears can be a very intricate process, so mechanical experience is highly recommended. Follow the included instructions for best results.
