Description
Rear Big Brake Upgrade. The Baer SS4+ Rear Big Brake Kit with 13-Inch Rotors and Silver Calipers delivers a high-performance disc brake solution engineered to replace factory rear drum brakes. This kit enhances stopping power and improves heat dissipation for safer, more consistent braking during spirited driving or towing, making it a reliable upgrade for compatible vehicles.
Construction and Appearance. The calipers are CNC machined from US sourced forged or billet aluminum for strength and lightweight durability, finished with a powder coat to resist corrosion. Equipped with hard anodized aluminum pistons and stainless steel hardware, the system features vented 2-piece rotors with zinc-plated, slotted, and drilled surfaces mounted on billet aluminum hats. Stainless braided hoses and premium hardware provide lasting performance and reliability.
Installation. Installation requires moderate mechanical skill and uses a bolt-on mounting system utilizing the included backing plate, which also houses the parking brake assembly. The upgrade requires no drilling or modification of the vehicle chassis or axle components, allowing for a straightforward and clean installation when converting from drum brakes to discs.
Warranty. This brake kit comes with a limited warranty that covers manufacturing defects, ensuring confidence in product quality and performance.
Application. Designed to fit 1988-98 C1500 2WD trucks and 1992-99 C1500 2WD SUVs—including Tahoe, Suburban, and Yukon models—with 10-inch rear drum brakes and OE C-clip rear ends. Compatibility with other vehicles or rear axle configurations is not included.
