Description
Heavy-Duty Fuel Tank Support. The Rust Buster Fuel Tank Crossmember is engineered to replace corroded or damaged crossmembers on GM 1500 pickups, providing essential support and protection for the fuel tank. By reinforcing the frame, it helps prevent fuel tank exposure that can cause hazardous conditions and vehicle instability, enabling safer and more reliable truck operation.
Construction and Appearance. Manufactured from sturdy 11 gauge steel, this crossmember is thicker than the factory original to enhance strength and longevity. It comes with all new Grade M14 hardware, includes a shock mount, and is coated with an oil-based protective finish to prevent oxidation during transit, ensuring a durable and clean appearance for long-term use.
Installation. Installation requires welding and minor modification of the end weld plates for 8-foot long bed models. The crossmember is designed to match factory bends precisely, allowing for easier and accurate installation onto the vehicle frame.
