Hey, guys. Joe from AmericanTrucks. And today, we're gonna be working with the Truxedo Sentry Hard Roll-Up Bed Cover, fitting all '15 and newer F-150s. This is going to be the perfect option for the F-150 owner who's looking for a high-quality tonneau cover that's going to add a little bit more security than those regular old vinyl tonneau covers. Now it is still going to be vinyl on top. We have a weatherproof leather grain vinyl that's pressure-bonded to a high-quality black aluminum frame, that is definitely going to make this a little bit tougher to get into, again, over those standard vinyl tonneau covers. Now with a regular old vinyl tonneau cover, all that stands in between whoever wants to get into the bed of your truck and whatever is in the bed of your truck is going to be as simple as a pocket knife like this one. However, not with the Sentry, that black aluminum frame is going to be right underneath that vinyl, it's going to keep your stuff safe and that is going to prevent any knife from being able to cut this open. And again, once you have the bed locked, this thing is pretty much sealed, there's no way to get this off. So this is a good way to keep your cargo safe from the elements and prying eyes at the same time. Now another thing I really like about the Sentry here is the design is almost perfect, in my opinion, it allows you to roll this thing up with some real speed and get it down with just as much speed. We're gonna show you how fast that can be done in just a second here. And that is thanks to the quick release system to roll this up, all you have to do is drop the tailgate, basically, pull on a cord to release some tabs that hold this in place and the whole thing just rolls up and secures with some straps at the top. That's a huge plus, in my opinion. There's no buttons, there's no snaps. And since this thing is on an aluminum frame, it's not going to contract in cold weather and make this thing hard to roll up and down. So, that's a big plus as far as tonneau cover goes, in my opinion.Another great thing about the Sentry here is it does allow you to keep some of those low-profile looks. So you get the looks and the security of a hard-roll up tonneau cover, there's really no downsides with this one. As you could see, this thing looks right at home on the back of our '17 F-150 here, looks like it could have come as a factory option on this truck and it's going to give you those looks on top of that security, so really, you're getting the best of both worlds here. This is going to be available for the 5.5 foot bed which is what you see here, the 6.5 foot bed, and the 8 foot bed. There's a dropdown option on our website, make sure you grab the right one. Other than that, the install which we're gonna get to in just a second here is going to be the same. For this guy, we're looking at around $900 bucks and that is going to be on the expensive side but what you're getting here is something that's intended to last. This thing is definitely built to last, and it's designed to make using your bed just a little bit easier. But if you're still not sold, Truxedo also includes a three-year limited lifetime warranty with the Sentry. The install here is going to be pretty easy as well, definitely a one out of three, no modifications, you don't need to drill this into your truck, nothing like that. You should be able to get this done in about 15 minutes, half an hour in the driveway with nothing but some basic hand tools. So without any further ado, let me show you what tools you need and how it's done.Tools required for this install are going to be an impact gun or ratchet, 1/2-inch socket, and a knife or scissors to trim up some weatherstripping. So the first step to our install here, we're going to apply this bulkhead seal, it's got some 3M double-sided tape on the back, all we're gonna do is peel away that backing and stick this in place along the length of our rear window here. Two things to watch out for, you wanna make sure that area is nice and clean, that's going to allow this adhesive to stick as best as it can. And this seal does have a lip on it, as you can see right there, you want that facing toward the back of the truck. And they do give you a little bit extra, so I'm just gonna trim that up with a knife. So now we're going to install this rail onto the bed rail of our truck. And again, a couple things to note here, this strap to lock down our tonneau cover, that should be up by the cab of the truck. And when you're installing this, you wanna make sure this rubber-sealed side meets up with this edge of the bed rail right here. Now we're gonna take these clamps, we're gonna get these seated and tightened down with a 1/2-inch socket. There are gonna be three of these clamps for either side, we're gonna space these along the length of the rail evenly. Now we're gonna come over to the passenger side and again, you want this rubber lip to meet up with this flat face here on the bed rail. And then we're gonna tighten down the clamp with the 1/2-inch socket. You can see you have two choices on the bottom for that clamp, you want the feet to be at the top and they're going to mesh in with that grated pad right there to lock this in place. So now we can take our tonneau cover and put it up on the bed of our truck. And what we're going to be looking out for here is this clamp is going to be up by the bulkhead, this little Allen key bolt right here is going to go into the hole on the rails that we just installed. It's a little bit easier to see underneath, but that little Allen key bolt is going into this hole right here, it doesn't really push all the way through but it is lined up. And once you have it at that point, you can just press this clamp over to lock it in. And now we're gonna do the same thing on the other side as well. Now we're gonna unroll our tonneau cover and as we do that, you'll see that these plastic feet that hold together the panels here are gonna line up with this truck in the rail that we installed earlier. This is completely unrolled now and in order to lock this in place at the tailgate here, I'm just gonna pull this up to show you guys a little bit. This little white tooth is just gonna click into a slot on this rail, so all we're gonna do, line it up and pull it down. We have to do the same thing for the other side as well. Now at this point, we can close the tailgate. And to finish this up, we're just gonna run down the side and secure that Velcro. Now before we secure this Velcro, actually, there is one more tab right here in the middle. Clicks in just like the tailgate did, ours automatically did that as we were unrolling. If yours hasn't clicked in yet, you can press down right about here and that should fall right into place. But after that, just fold that Velcro over and run your hand down the side.So I said earlier this can be rolled up and down with some real speed, I'm gonna go through exactly how it's done and we'll see how fast we can actually get this up and down. First step, obviously, we're gonna drop the tailgate here, then we're going to reach underneath. And in order to release this, we're just gonna pull on this tab, that pulls the backup and takes it off the tailgate. After that, I'm just gonna roll this straight on. Now, I'm just gonna climb in the bed, grab one of these straps here, that's just gonna go behind the tonneau cover and hook in through the bulkhead, then we can pull that tight. Now to unroll this, we're just gonna release the tension on these tabs here and then unhook the tie downs. And after that, just pretty much unroll the thing, press into place. At this point, we can close the tailgate and we can wrap this up just by giving that Velcro a good press down, make sure it seals well. And that is gonna do it for my review and install of the Truxedo Sentry Hard Roll-Up Bed Cover, fitting all '15 and newer F-150s.
