Now these letters will feature the quality stainless steel build, perfectly cut to fill the F-150 lettering, all for right around 40 bucks, while the peel and stick install, at least according to the site, is gonna get a very soft one outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter and take no more than a few minutes to complete from start to finish.Now the purpose of this particular product is pretty obvious, right, to fill in the F-150 lettering stamped into the factory tailgate to give things a little bit more style. And traditionally you're gonna have a couple of different ways to go about doing this: the vinyl method which is typically a bit more affordable, or you can look into something like this kit which is really gonna kick things up from a construction standpoint. Now the biggie here will no doubt be the full stainless steel build which is finished in what's called a black platinum color as it's gonna be a little bit more flashy compared to a gloss or satin black kit. Now if you do like the idea of a quality stainless steel kit but prefer maybe even more flash or more bling, I should say, there are gonna be other finish options available here on the site for very similar money. But going back to that material, not only will they be extremely durable compared to vinyl, but you also won't have to worry about these things rusting on you or corroding on you over the years.Now as far as your installation is concerned, well, no need for drilling or any permanent modification. Instead, all the parts are simply going to adhere to your factory tailgate using the preinstalled 3M automotive tape on the back. So to give you a better idea of how this job will go down, here is a quick walk-through along with some tips needed for a smooth job.Man: Tools used for this install are a microfiber cloth and some cleaning or detailing spray.So for this install, you're gonna wanna make sure that you're starting with a clean and dry surface so that you have good adhesion with your letters when you go to stick them on the tailgate. I'm gonna use a microfiber with a little bit of detail spray on it, make sure that I'm nice and clean so that way my letters stick on perfectly.So now that my tailgate surface is clean and dry and there's no debris on there whatsoever, I'm gonna start installing my letters. I'm gonna peel back just the corners of my 3M tape on the back so that I can make sure my alignment is perfect on the tailgate. Once I'm happy with where the letter's sitting, I can go ahead and peel off the rest of the 3M backing. And then add a little bit of pressure for good adhesion.
