Hey guys, this is Sarah with AmericanTrucks.com, and today we have review and install the proven ground Hard Tri-Fold Tonneau Cover, fitting your 04 to 14 F-150 style side models with a five and a half or six and a half footbed. This is perfect for the F-150 owner who's looking for the security of a hardcover and wants a low profile option that gives their truck a sleek appearance. This Hard Tri-Fold Style Tonneau Cover features a low profile design and an easy to use fastening system. It features an aluminum construction with a matte black finish, giving your truck a sleek, streamlined look. This tonneau provides cargo protection and security when closed thanks to this locking mechanism. And when it's folded all the way open, it secures with a buckle and strap so you can haul larger cargo with a moment's notice. So as far as price goes, this tonneau comes in at around $600 which is middle of the road price-wise when compared to other options. And for your money, you are getting the security of a hardcover with one of the most low profile options on the market. I'm giving this install a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It features a direct bolt up installation with no modification required and can be done within 30 minutes. So with that said, let's check out our install. For this install, you'll need an impact gun but a ratchet will work just fine, and you'll also need a 17-millimeter socket and the included Allen key. All right, so the first step in our install is to get these rails bolted up to the truck. But before we can do that, we do need to install these drain tubes as well as two clamps. So, the first thing we're going to do is the drain tube, grab one and slide it over the very end of the rail. There's a plastic fitting on there and there's a barbed fitting so just slide it on past the barbs. Now, we're going to install the clamps. The larger clamp going on first, this one goes towards the back of our bed. Line it up with the two tabs on the top and then bottom of the rail and slide it all the way forward. Second, this slightly smaller clamp here goes on the exact same way. It should be two tabs one on the top of the rail and one on the bottom. So, get it lined up and slide it in place. This will stay towards the back of the rail. Once you have the two clamps loosely installed, grab the rail and slide it over the edge of the bed of your truck. Now, we can get it clamped into place. All right, now the rail is lined up on the edge of your bed, we're going to install these clamps to hold it down. We're going to go evenly towards the front and rear of the truck, one on each. Line it up over this tab here and have it clamped the edge of the bed. Then, what we're gonna do is grab a 17-millimeter socket and tighten it down. And repeat that towards the back of your bed. Hook it over the edge of the rail. Ensure it's clamping nice and evenly on the back part of the bed. Grab your 17-millimeter socket and tighten it down.Repeat that on the other side. Go ahead and set your rail in place, same as the other side. Line up your clamps the same as the other side. And as you press down on the rail, tighten it down and install the other clamp as well. All right, now I can set the tonneau cover on top of the bed rails, you may want a friend for this step because it is a little bit on the heavier side. It makes it easier to line up. All right, so what we're going to do now is unclip the straps holding our tonneau together and fold it out. Now, you can see a hole in the tonneau and the included bolts will go right through this. Make sure that you're including the rubber washer as well. This is gonna bolt down the tonneau to the rails. Now, you can line up the bolt that you just installed with the clamp that you installed at the beginning. Go ahead and lift up your tonneau, line up the clamp. We're gonna install the hardware, a washer, lock washer, and a knob to tighten it down and thread it over the end. And then grab the included Allen key and tighten down the Allen bolt holding the clamp to the rail. Make sure you repeat that on the other side, grab the bolt and slide it through the tonneau cover. And once it's installed, we're going to install the hardware, a washer, lock washer same as the other side. Grab your knob and thread it on and tighten it down. And grab the included Allen key to tighten it down. All right, now you're going to unclip the tonneau and fold it out all the way to the back of your bed. Line up these posts with the clamps of the back, you want them to contact right in the center. One of your clamp, press into place, and then tighten it down with the included Allen key. Tighten down the other side as well. All right, now at both sides clamped down, go ahead and close your tailgate. All right, to operate our tonneau cover, you're gonna open your tailgate. Once that's down, go ahead and pull on the cable for your tonneau, this will release both sides and begin to fold it back. Once it's folded all the way back, grab your clip and clip it into place. Make sure you secure the strap on both sides. To fold it out, unclip both sides and begin to fold your tonneau out one section at a time. Once it's all folded out, clip the back section on each side and close up your tailgate. And then that is going to do it for their view and install of this tonneau cover and remember for all things F-150, keep it at AmericanTrucks.com.
