This triple alloy gear set is engineered to fit GM 8.5 or 8.625 differential cases. Get additional lower-end torque that’s perfect for rock crawling, towing, and hauling. Drive more confidently on inclined roads and get more work done with your truck.

      High Quality and Better Value. One of Motive gear’s selling point is value for money without sacrificing quality. This Motive Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is forged from high-grade 8620 steel alloy that features increased core strength compared to lower grade alloys. Each gear goes through a computer-controlled heat treatment process that further reinforced the metal. This treatment allows the metal to withstand higher stress from added torque and horsepower.

      Reprogramming After Installation. Changing gear ratios and upgrading to larger tires, for that matter, throws off your speedometer readings. Remember to retune or reprogram your truck’s computer after installation to maintain accurate speed measurements.

      Installing Motive Gears. The Motive 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is a direct replacement of OEM parts. It's designed to follow OEM specifications so fit shouldn't be an issue. However, it's recommended that you leave the installation to your trusted mechanic, as you'll need special tools and equipment for a successful re-gearing.

      1-Year/50,000 Warranty. The Motive 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit come with a 1-year or 50,000-mile warranty. This covers defects on materials and workmanship. Exclusions do apply so please visit the website to find out the full details.

      Technical Note. Chevy Silverado 4WD models requires matching gear ratios on the front and back axle. This is to prevent failures to the drivetrain components such as the drive shaft, axle shaft, and transmission.
