The Husky rear wheel well guards in black are available for any '14 to '17 Silverado owner who's looking to replace their cracked or otherwise damaged wheel well guards, or add some if you don't have any from the factory, in order to protect your underbody components. They're a super affordable replacement for the rear, coming in north of the $100 mark for the pair. Installation is a no-brainer, so of course, we'll get one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, but we'll talk more about that later on in the video. Taking a closer look at these, obviously, you want them to be super durable because they will be taking a beating from your daily commute, especially during your off-roading adventures. Rocks, debris, weather elements and more will take its toll inside of your wheel wells. So with this black thermal plastic material that's impact resistant, made right here in the U.S., you don't have to worry about your underbody components taking the hit. Your shocks, frame, and other parts can corrode and rust if you're in a wintry weather area, seeing a lot of road salt, so this plays a huge part in preventing that from happening. Now, the guys with Work Truck model Silverados did not have well liners from the factory, which means your truck was left vulnerable from the outside elements, and if you're actually on the work site or off-road, it can eat away at those crucial parts I just mentioned. This is a great and affordable way to add a set to your truck that really needed it from the factory. These are painted black simply to blend in more with the dark underbody appearance for a stealthy look, but it also adds another layer of protection. You won't need to pull them off to clean them. Just hose them off normally, and everything will run right off of them. For the pair, you'll be spending around 130 bucks, which I don't think is too bad, considering they're an ideal replacement that doesn't require any drilling or modifications. Plus, they're stronger than the factory options, anyway. They even come with a lifetime guarantee, backed by Husky, to make sure that you know if there's any defects causing them to crack, they've got you covered. The installation, as I mentioned a minute ago, is very simple and straightforward, so expect one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. As far as tools go, you'll need a T-15 Torx bit, a ratchet and basic socket set, and a Phillips head screwdriver, plus about a half-hour in your driveway at home. You'll start by removing the fasteners holding the factory wheel well liners into place at your rear end, using your T-15 Torx bit. If you have a Work Truck model, obviously you can skip this step since you don't have them. Each guard from Husky will have DS or PS marked on them to help identify the driver's side and passenger side liners. One at a time, put them in their respective locations over the tire. You shouldn't need to remove the wheel to do this, but if you feel like it would make it easier on you, then you can jack up the truck and support the weight, and remove the wheel. Align the holes and screw them down using the hardware provided. Work Truck models will use the U-clip provided, which will go in the back side of the metal, and used as a nut for the floor mounting locations on each side. Repeat this for the other side, and you're obviously good to go. Just to wrap this one up, if you're the owner of a 2014 or newer Silverado, you might wanna check out the Husky rear wheel well guards in black, which are available right here at americantrucks.com.
