So Flowmaster's black ceramic tip that we're taking a look at today should definitely appeal to any F-150 owner out there that might be looking to change out their old and worn out factory exhaust tip, or for the owner out there that just digs this blacked out theme, and wants to incorporate a little bit more of the sleek look. Now additionally, this might appeal to owner's out there that are working with an aftermarket cat-back but are just looking to change up that style, or for the owner's that don't mind the stock sound and are just looking to change things up out back. And the great thing about most, if not all exhaust tips for the F-150, is that they're gonna install with little to no effort at all.For that, I'm going to be giving this a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on our difficulty meter here, and about a 15-minute job. But in terms of the construction and materials here, guys, it's evident right out of the box that despite being such an inexpensive and small appearance mod, that it's very well-built. But taking a closer look, this is going to be manufactured out of a T304 stainless steel, which is gonna be one of the premiere materials for either exhaust tips or exhaust systems. Additionally, it will then be finished off in a very cool looking black ceramic powder coated finish. Which again, is just gonna appeal to any truck owner out there that's looking for that smoked theme.Pricing wise, you should expect to be spending about 80 bucks to get this onto your truck, and I honestly think it's a small price to pay considering you're getting really great materials, that Flowmaster name, and at the end of the day a very sinister-looking execution. And switching gears to the installation, you're looking at a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on our difficulty meter here and about a 15-minute job. Now I do want to mention, if you're running a 2011 and newer F-150, the install is going to be merely slipping this on, tightening it down, and you're good to go. However, if you are running an older truck, you will need to do the slightest amount of cutting to your factory tip in order for this to fit. Either way, I'll still be giving it a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on our difficulty meter here, and a 15-minute job either way.So I'm Alex and that's my quick review and breakdown of Flowmaster's 3.5 and 4.0-inch Angle Cut Exhaust Tip, offered in the black ceramic finish fitting your 1997 through 2016 F-150 available right here at AmericanTrucks.com.

Looks fantastic. Finish seems durable after 300 miles so far, nice ceramic coating. Required a bit of elbow grease and sanding to get it to fit over my pipe but I would rather that than it be loose. 10/10 reccomend.Helpful (0)

Does not fit like the picture
2018 F150 only goes on for about two inches and then stops. Sticks out 5 inches past the side of the vehicle. It doesn’t fit the 2018 F150s like it does in the picture. Looking at cutting off two inches of my current exhaust just for this tipHelpful (2)

Put the Flowmaster black ceramic tip on my 2015 black EcoBoost. Looks great. I had to cut about 4" off of the end of the exhaust pipe, which was time consuming. Then I painted the exhaust in front of the spare tire shield with high temp paint. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is, I prefer a rolled tip and a drain hole. A bit pricey, but it will be worth it if the ceramic finish holds up. Very happy so far.Helpful (2)

Nice tip. Poor fit.
The first exhaust tip that was sent to me was bent and didn't fit. A new one was shipped to me that had no defects; however, it wasn't a good fit, either. It took me 1.5 hours but I finally got it on. It says it fits a 3 inch pipe but it doesn't. I had to cut approximately 1 foot of my stock pipe off for it to work.Helpful (3)

Installed a 40 series flowmaster muffler on my ‘16 F150 5.0 Lariat. I ordered two of these tips for a (left and right) side out exit. These are quality tips and finished off the job perfectly. Had them welded on when my custom pipes were installed.Helpful (4)

Product looks well made, yet although it stated it fits the tailpipe of the 2016 F150 w/ 5 L engine, it only fits over 2", so the tailpipe has to be cut or it protrudes out which is ridiculous. Will have to see how the finish holds up. Fingers crossed!Helpful (8)

I have a 2011 F-150 5.0 and purchased the flow master American thunder cat back exhaust. It came with stainless tips and I wanting to replace with black. What is the proper size to order?
You should measure your exhaust tubing diameter and order the same size exhaust tip connection.
I have a 2018 F-150 3.5 ecoboost. The tailpipe actually measures 2 3/4 O.D. Which size should I order and will it require modification?
I see alot of reviews of this tip not fitting. I have a 2019 f150 5.0L and do not want to cut back the exhaust. Is this guranteed to fit all the way on. My pipe is about 14" before the turn. My expectation from your information is that it should. Thanks,
I would suggest just making sure the measure the pipe that you have to see if you have the 3" or 2.5" diameter. Make sure to choose the right one at checkout, and you should be good to go!
how far does existing pipe fit into the tip? (I have 2019 F-150) In other words, how much does this extend exiting pipe?
You can adjust how far in or out the exhaust tip sits on the pipe to meet your liking
I have 3in pipe, Which one do I buy?
You would want to select the tip for 3" piping.
The Flowmaster 3.5 in. or 4.0 in. Angle Cut Exhaust Tip is designed to install onto 2.5" or 3" piping. This is not designed to go over an existing tip.
The Flowmaster 3.5 in. or 4.0 in. Angle Cut Exhaust Tip does not change the sound of the exhaust. These tips are for the owner's that don't mind the stock sound and are just looking to change things up out back
The difference in size will likely require modification for proper fitment.
