The Baja Style Lower Grille Insert will be a great choice for the 2015 through '17 F-150 owners who are looking for an affordable lower insert to maybe go along with a stock or aftermarket upper grille of your choosing. Now, this particular option will combine the honeycomb pattern in charcoal, along with that durable ABS plastic build, all for right around 40 to 50 bucks. Installation, according to the site, is easy enough to achieve a one out of three wrench rating and about an hour or so to complete from start to finish, as we'll show you guys later in the video. So, the first thing that comes to mind when checking this thing out is Raptor, right? There's really no avoiding that. Now, this part, along with the honeycomb design, that grayish color here, really just gives the factory lower grille portion a bit more style, thanks to that heavy Raptor inspiration. Now, because of that, a lot of truck owners out there will choose this lower when corresponding or trying to match a Raptor style upper grille, whether it be from Barricade or a different vendor here on the site, as it really just does help complete the overall look. With all that being said, if you don't have one of those Raptor style upper grilles in place, you just enjoy the look of the lower by itself, that's totally cool. In fact, it'll make a great addition by itself, or as a complement to any other aftermarket style upper grille, even including the stocker, as that is totally up to you guys at the end of the day.As far as your build is concerned, well, you are looking at durable automotive grade ABS plastic overall, finished in that charcoal color, much like the OE Raptor, and I'd say it's gonna flow really nicely with the factory bumpers, probably more so on those sport trucks out there with the painted bumpers, but that's totally your call. Now, for EcoBoost owners out there, that honeycomb design should allow for plenty of airflow into that factory or aftermarket intercooler behind the bumper. Now, factory Raptor guys, you have to keep in mind that even though this might look like a nice part or replacement to fix a busted factory lower grille, it is not going to be the case, as the F-150 bumpers and the Raptor bumpers are not exactly the same. So therefore, if you have a Raptor, this part will not be for you. But now we wanna show you just what it takes to get the dark forest grille insert installed, and to do so, here's a quick walkthrough of the job, along with a quick tool breakdown.Tool needed for this installation includes a panel removal tool. All right, getting started, you really wanna make sure you have a panel removal tool to help you with this job. If you don't have one of these, sometimes you can get away with a flathead screwdriver wrapped in a towel, to prevent you from scratching your paint, but trust me, spend the one or two bucks at your local parts store, grab one of these plastic panel removal tools. They are always valuable in a number of different jobs, including this one.So, let's get started. Again, we've got our tool here as you can see, and we're just gonna work our way around the factory panel, releasing the clips as we go. Now, you have a little bit more room in the middle here to insert your tool, and then we're just gonna kinda work our way around, as you'll see right now. So, insert, and then most your clips can be found over here, and you just wanna start popping as you go, and you can hear them release. Go. Now, our grille's been off a couple of times, so it's a little easier getting off and on, but you get the point. With that side released, we're gonna come over on this side, do the same thing. Work our way around, kinda prying as we go. There you have it. With our factory grille removed, now we can just grab our new Baja style lower, and the nice thing to point out is that your clips are already installed for you, so there's really nothing else you need to do but snap her in place. Obviously you gotta be a little firm with it. Don't be afraid of it, just to lock those clips into place, but you'll see once you get them to lock in, your installation is complete.Guys, we hope you enjoyed this review and install of the RedRock 4x4 Baja Style Lower Grille Insert, available for your 2015 through 2017 F-150 at home.
