Hey, guys. It's Sara with americantrucks.com and today, we have a review and install of the Barricade T4 Side Step Bars in Stainless Steel, fitting your '19 and newer Silverado 1500 Crew Cab excluding the Legacy models. These are perfect for the Silverado owner looking to add the convenience of a step to their truck and wants a wide and flat running board style step with a polished finish. They provide a step for easy entry into your truck, especially if it's lifted or leveled like ours and double as a bit of added side protection against doordings. These steps feature a flat and straight design with a steel construction and mirror polish finish as well as black nonslip step pads. It also features these step pads which are four inches wide giving you more stepping surface than round or oval options. So, as far as price goes, these come in at around $325 putting them on the lower end price wise when compared to other options. And for your money you're getting a flat and wide step with a polish finish. I'm giving this install one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It features direct bolt up installation and can be done within two hours. So with that said, let's jump into our install. For this install, you will need an impact gun or a ratchet, a 13-millimeter socket and you may also want an extension. All right, so the first step in our install is to grab our brackets and get them bolted up underneath the truck. Now, these are not side specific, so grab four of them and we'll start on the passenger side. All right, so we're starting at the frontmost mounting point on the passenger side. There should be two threaded holes in the body. You may have to expose these if you don't have factory steps or, maybe, a plastic plug over top of them. But grab your first bracket and grab your longer bolts with the washer and lock washer. I believe these are the same thread pitch as the ones that go on the step. And go ahead and get them installed. Now, we're just gonna get these snug, but not tight, because we're gonna tighten it down as soon as we line up our step with the brackets. All right, moving on for the next threaded holes in the body, this is our next mounting point. Line up your bracket the same as the front one and then thread in the hardware.Moving on to the third mounting point, again, threaded holes in the body. And install your hardware. And, finally, we're going to the rearmost mounting point. There are two threaded holes in the body, two sets of them. We're going to the very farthest one back. And install your final bracket.Okay, now we can install these plastic covers. They just make this part of the bracket look a little nicer once the step is installed. Go ahead and slide them over the top of the bracket and line them up with the two holes on the outer side of the bracket. We're gonna install these two push clips. And then, with a Philips head screwdriver, tighten them down. Just be very careful, these are plastic and if you slip off you will destroy these. But as long as you're putting some pressure on here and going slowly, it should be fine. Repeat that for the remaining three brackets. All right, so at this point you can grab your step and set it on top of the brackets. Now, because the brackets are not flat, they're sort of angled, it might not sit nicely. You may want a friend to help hold in place while you bolt it down.Line up the step to the holes in the bottom of the bracket. And then, with the hardware, the small hardware with a washer and lock washer, thread them in.Repeat that on the rest of the mounting points. We are just leaving these hand tight for now and we're gonna make a pass and tighten down everything at the very end. This just makes it easier to line up the step with the mounting point because there's not a ton of room for error here.Leaving the brackets and the step loose on here helps us line up the mounting points. That would be pretty difficult if we didn't, so I just like to do that method just so I'm not fighting against the brackets or the step itself. All right, so now with a 13-millimeter socket, tighten down the bolts going into the step.Next up, with your 13-millimeter socket, tighten down the bolts holding the bracket to the body of your truck. You may need a ratchet to get to this higher bracket. It's a little tighter up there. Now, I can repeat that process with the rest of the brackets. And keep in mind there is a little bit of adjustability here. If your step is not sitting perfect when you're done, you can come back and readjust them. All right, so that is gonna do it for the review and install of these side step bars. And, remember, for all things Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
