If you own a 2018 through 2020 F150 and are looking to add a very patriotic touch to that factory tailgate, then the American flag F150 insert here is an absolute no-brainer. Now, this officially licensed five-piece kit will not be a cheap vinyl solution, but rather a thick three-layer design that will fill the void perfectly and is backed by a corresponding lifetime warranty for right around 70 to 80 bucks. Now, installation is going to be a simple peel-and-stick job here, gang, so let's call it a soft 1 out of 3 wrenches on the old difficulty meter, and I would say no more than 30 minutes of your time to get in place from start to finish. But, as always, hang with me for a bit, and we'll walk you through that job later in the video. So, the stamping on the factory tailgate in the 2018 through 2020 F150 is just begging for some sort of personalization or modification. And as such, you're going to find a ton of options here on the site to customize this area in just about any way you like, right? You have different colors, camo, carbon fiber, chrome, and even the patriotic American flag option like we have here today. Now, aside from the different design options, owners also have to make some choices when it comes to materials. Now, you're going to find some polished stainless steel or chrome options kind of on the higher side of the price range all the way down the line to the vinyl options, which are certainly going to be more of your budget-friendly choices. And then you have something like these three-layer options, which are going to land somewhere in the middle but a little bit more on the higher side of the price point. Of course, the styling of this particular option is pretty obvious, right? And that's the stars and stripes proudly displayed throughout the F150 logo here and done so in a very clean way. The F in the dash are going to get the blue and star treatment, while the 150 portion is just going to get the stripes. And the coloring throughout the entire logo is actually given a little bit of pearl, which should look really nice in the sun. Now, the end result is just fully going to crank that America vibe on the tailgate and does so in a high-quality way. And with that said, I do want to go back to that three-layer construction or build, which again is very high-quality, and as a result, does get backed by a corresponding limited lifetime warranty. Now, your top layer will be more of this high gloss, durable coating, which is going to protect the second layer, which is your American flag detail. Your third and final layer will be your 3M automotive-grade adhesive on the back, which will make the install a very easy job. Now, you'll just first want to make sure the area is nice and clean before getting started, and after that, it's just simply filling in the puzzle pieces, right? Definitely a soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, and no more than a few minutes of your time to get in place from start to finish. But to give you a better idea of how it will go down, feel free to check out our detailed walkthrough right now. Tools used for this installation include a clean microfiber towel and a cleaning solution. All right, guys, we got a very easy install here for you today, as you might imagine, but the very important step you do not want to skimp on is cleaning the surface first. Again, this is a 100% adhesive install, so the installation is only going to be as good as your prep. With that being said, I got some cleaning solution and a clean microfiber towel. We're going to get started by cleaning off the surface first. All right. So, we're going to be working left to right here, starting with our F. Pretty simple stuff, guys. You really just want to peel off the backing of each letter or number, and then you're just basically filling the space left stamped in the tailgate for you. So, peel off our backing here. I'm going to start on the left side here and just kind of get everything lined up.You don't want to give too much pressure until you got everything right where you want it. That way, you can kind of still manipulate the F a little bit, get everything perfect. Once you have it where you want it, go ahead and give it some pressure. Up next, we have the dash. Probably the easiest part of the kit. You want to just make sure you're installing each detail on the flat surface. Now, for the 1. Now, we have the 5, and I would say this is probably going to be your toughest letter, just because of the bends. Just make sure you take your time with this one. Again, you can lightly apply the number without fully adhering it to the tailgate, just to make sure it's perfectly level for you. And finally, our 0. Remove the backing. I found getting it eye level really is a lot more helpful. And with that, our installation is complete. Again, a very simple day in the garage or a driveway. And that's going to wrap us up here. Hey, we hope you enjoyed this review and install of the American flag edition tailgate kit for your 2018 and newer F150 at home.
