Description
Improve Throttle Response. When Ford started adding Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Technology, also know as Drive-By-Wire, to the F-150, there is a lag between the time you hit the accelerator pedal and when the throttle body opens. No matter how hard or fast you hit the pedal, the throttle body opens at the same rate. The Sprint Booster Power Converter is the perfect solution to overcome the throttle response delay, by increasing the signal from the pedal to the throttle body. Even though this doesn't add any horsepower to your F-150, it does make your throttle response more sensitive, which helps to improve your safety during overtaking, quick gear changes and uphill starts.
Features 3 Acceleration Modes. This device features 3 acceleration modes. The first one is off, which reverts the vehicle’s acceleration response back to its factory settings. Second is sport, which is indicated by a green light and improves the truck’s response up to 30%. And lastly, race mode, which is indicated by a red light and improves the vehicle’s response up to 60%.
Pedal Lock and Valet Modes. The Sprint Booster Power Converter also has pedal lock and valet modes. When the pedal lock is selected, it deactivates the vehicle’s acceleration until the correct PIN is typed in. During the valet mode, however, the vehicle’s acceleration is limited, reducing its power and torque.
Plug & Play Installation. Installation of the Sprint Booster couldn't be any simpler. Featuring a compact design, the Sprint Booster plugs directly between factory harness and accelerator module. Simply unplug the factory harness from your accelerator module, plug the Sprint Booster to the module and then plug the factory harness to the Sprint Booster.
Application. This Sprint Booster Power Converter fits 2005-2008 Ford F-150 models.
Technical Note. This Power Converter is not for use with any aftermarket tune that affects throttle opening rate.
