    Review & Install Video

So Smittybilt's M1 bolt-on fender flares we're taking a quick look at today should definitely appeal to my newer F-150 owners out there that are going to be after a premium fender flare that's going to give you that much more clearance, as well as giving you some attitude with their stainless-steel rivets. Another great point about most if not all fender flares for this platform is that they're installing with little to no effort at all, no drilling or modifying your truck. For that, you're looking at a very easy one out of three wrenches on my difficulty meter here, and about an hour's worth of labor. I will have more for you coming up on that later. Now, these are going to be one of your more pricey and superior options out there in the category of fender flares. That's primarily going to be due to the construction and materials, which with the M1s we'll see that's going to be a heat and a UV-resistant ABS plastic, Now, additionally, these are going to feature Smittybilt's Perfect Fit Technology, which means that they will come supplied with some rubber gaskets to go around the underside of the flare itself to ensure that you have a great fit. Now, looks and materials aside here, guys, one of the best aspects about fender flares, aside from how aggressive they're going to make the sides of your truck look is that they are going to offer protection when you're doing some light off-roading. Now, while the black finish looks great on any F-150 here, if you did want to take it a step further, you could absolutely have these color-matched to your truck by your dealership or any local paint shop. In terms of the pricing, expect to see these fall in line right around $430 to $450. If that sounds like it's a little bit on the higher side, there's absolutely other options out there which can easily surpass $500. But for the money here, you're going to be getting away with a great-looking, premium, no-drill option that's going to set your F-150 apart from the pack. Installation-wise, you're looking at an easy one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here, and about an hour's worth of labor. So there's a couple different ways you can begin to tackle the installation here. But personally speaking, what I would do first is take one of your flares before they even hit your truck, put them face-down, and then work the provided rubber-edged steel trim all the way around the perimeter of the flares, and then cut off any excess. Once you're done putting on the rubber-edged trim, you can take the stainless-steel riveted hardware, and then begin by working that all the way around your flares. Now, once you're done with the rubber trim and the rivets, simply take these up to your truck, and then use the provided clips and hardware, work everything around, repeat the process on the opposite side, and then you're good to go. So that's my quick review of Smittybilt's M1 bolt-on fender flares fitting the 2015 through 2017 F-150, which can be found right here at americantrucks.com.
