Justin: These Factory Style Flares will be a great choice for the '07 to '13 Silverado owners looking to add a very subtle flair, but without ultimately breaking the bank. Now, this set of four will feature a durable automotive grade matte black plastic build, along with all of the hardware needed for the bolt-on install for right around the high $100 price point.Speaking of that install, guys, so it's gonna stick with the strong one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, maybe 45 minutes or so to get this one knocked out from start to finish. But hang with me for a bit and we'll show you how it's done later in the video. So these factory styled options will be a great alternative to the more aggressive Pocket Style Flares that you'll see here on the site, while still packing I would say some additional coverage for a little bit more tire poke if needed. Now, in addition to the 1 inch or so of additional horizontal coverage, these flares are gonna measure in about 5 inches tall.So that will also be a great budget-friendly way to cover up some rust bubbles that may have started showing on your second-gen Silverado. But benefits aside, I think most truck owners out there, including myself, appreciate the simple styling of these Factory Styled Flares, thanks to the smooth step design here that really does fit the factory wheel wells perfectly. Now, as far as materials are concerned, well, again, you will find that durable yet lightweight polypropylene build that has been completed in a smooth matte black finish right out of the box. Now, because these things are packed in that smooth finish right out of the box, you do always have the option of getting these things color matched to your truck, which I feel will only increase the OE styling of the flares themselves.Just keep in mind, guys, if that is something you are interested in, you would have to take these things to your local paint shop on your own. Now, regardless of what option you choose, color match or black right out of the box, you have to check out the customer-submitted images of these guys installed on the Silverado, just to get a better sense of what they might look like on your own rig at home. But now, we wanna shift gears in the video here, kind of segue into that install, guys, give you a better idea of what to expect on your truck at home. Again, these things do include all of the hardware necessary to help you get everything in place, and it is a 100% bolt-on job. You shouldn't encounter any drilling whatsoever. Now, to give you a better idea again, feel free to check out our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: Tools required for this install include a ratchet, a regular size Phillips head, a short Phillips head, the 3/8th quarter inch adapter, and a 7-millimeter socket. What's up, guys? Today we'll be installing a set of fender flares on our Silverado. So let's get right down to it. All right, so our first step is gonna be to remove our fender well screws. It's gonna be four 7 millimeters, it's one here, one up top here that we're actually missing, and then one here, and one here. This one closest to the fender, the edge of the fender here is not gonna be removed, that'll stay there. All right. And now, we can go ahead and install our fender flares. So we're just gonna replace our four 7-millimeter screws. And now, we can go back and tighten down our hardware. And now, we can move on to our backside. So then coming to the back we have these two holes at the top that we're gonna put these little U clips on. And then we're gonna have four little S clips running down the sides to match up to our holes on our fender flare. So we're gonna take a little kinked part. That's gonna go up top. Now, for the S clips, what you could do is you could either mark up the fender flare and get like a little grease marker, and put dots in here where you want your clips to lie. What we're gonna do is we're gonna screw in these top two and then we'll use that to line up our sides. All right, so now that we have these in, we can line up our side holes and get our clips in there, and start installing. Now, we'll take this little black strip, we're gonna put it where we're gonna line up our S clip, and then we can slide our clip right over. All right, now, we can do the same thing on this side. All right, now, with that done, we can repeat that same process on the other side. All right, so now that we have our fender flares secured to the car, we can take our trim. Now, ours was pre-cut. If yours isn't, you're gonna have to trim it to the size of the fender flare. So we're gonna come in, pull the double-sided tape up a little bit, just to get us started, and then run it all the way around the edge, and then at the end, we can pull our piece of tape and it will glue everything down. Now that we have our trim installed, we can go ahead and pull away. And now, with this one done, we can repeat that same thing on the other three corners. So that'll wrap up this review and install of our Factory Style Fender Flares for the Front and Rear in Smooth Black for your 2007 to 2013 Silverado 1500. Thank you for watching. And remember, for all things Silverado, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
