      Video Review & Installation

Hey guys, it's Sara with americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install of these Euro Headlights in black, fitting your '07 to '13 Chevy Silverado 500. These are perfect for the Silverado owner looking for a budget friendly way to replace their aging or worn out headlights with this stylish option. These headlights give you improved visibility over your worn out factory headlights and they get your front end that blacked out look as well. They're constructed from impact resistant polycarbonate lenses and feature black housings. They are DOT and SAE compliant meaning they are legal for street use. They feature a plug-and-play installation and even come with all bulbs included. So as far as price goes, these come in at around $175, making them the most budget-friendly way to get a new set of headlights on your truck. I'm giving this install a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. They feature plug-and-play installation with no wiring required and can be installed within two hours. So with that said, let's jump into our install. For this install, you will need a pop clip removal tool, a 10-millimeter socket, a ratchet and you may want a long extension. All right. So the first step in our install once the hood is popped is to grab a pop clip removal tool and remove all the pop clips that are holding on the rad support cover. All right. Now you can grab the cover and remove it off the truck. All right. Now we can remove the grille by removing the four 10-millimeter bolts that are holding it on. Grab your socket if you can find one and let's get these off. Now this is not factory hardware so it looks a little bit different from yours that is why but they still should all be 10 millimeter. All right, with the bolts removed, we can grab the top of the grille and unhook it and then grab the bottom and pull out all the metal tabs. All right, with the grille removed, we can now grab a 10-millimeter socket and remove the two bolts that are holding on the top of the headlight. At this point, the headlight should be free. You can grab it on both sides and pull straight towards you to release the tabs at the back. With the headlight out, you can now press down on the connector. This should be the main harness connector and just pull straight out. So if you have trouble pulling your headlight out, there is one more bolt that's on the inside of the fender here and the headlight bracket just slides behind it. It's a slotted opening. You can get to it by just going right in front of the bumper or going in through the wheel well. Loosen that up if you're not able to get the headlight out. Now you can plug in your main harness to your new headlight. This is gonna be 180 out from its factory position. Line up the slotted bracket on the bottom and also these two tabs at the back with the openings in your fender. Slide it into place. Now you can replace the factory hardware and tighten them down. So you need to tighten down the bolt on the side of your headlight as well. You can probably get to it between the bumper and the fender but if this gap is not as big on your truck, you can go into the wheel well liner as well. Go ahead and grab your 10 mil and tighten it down. All right. So now that we have our factory headlight uninstalled from our truck, we can check it out side by side with our new headlight. Now, as you may have noticed, the biggest difference here is the black housing in our new headlight. It's gonna give your truck a nice blacked out look to the front end. One nice thing about these headlights is that the lens is still clear so you can get that blackout look without having to go for a smoked lens and as an added bonus, it's gonna give you an upgraded look because it's a fresh new lens which is gonna look a lot better than the cloudy one of your factory headlight. So with that said, let's finish up our install. Now we can repeat that process on your other headlight. Grab your 10 millimeter and remove the two bolts holding in the top. Now if your headlight doesn't slide out, make sure to loosen the bolt on the side as well. Now that your headlight is out, go ahead and release the tab. It's holding on your main wiring harness.Plug in your new headlight. Keep in mind that the connector is gonna be 180 from your factory connector. Line up the two plastic tabs at the back and also the tab, the slotted one that goes under this bolt. Go ahead and reinstall the factory hardware. Now don't forget to tighten down the bolts right through here. Again, if the gap is too small to go through the bumper, just go in through the wheel well and tighten it down. With both headlights installed, you can now reinstall your grille. Line it up on the top two tabs up here. They should hook on and make sure that the metal clips are lined up in the bottom of the grille. Go ahead and press it into place. Now you can reinstall the 10-millimeter bolts that hold on the top of your grille. With all the bolts in place, you can now reinstall the plastic rad support cover. Line up all the holes on the cover with the corresponding holes in the rad support and you can begin to install the pop clips. All right. So once you're finished with that, you can shut your hood. And that's gonna do it for the review and install these headlights. And remember for all things Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
