Installing a shorty antenna chosen from AmericanTrucks’ selection of 2014-2017 antennas is an easy way to upgrade from the 31 inch long antenna that most Silverados are equipped with at the factory. These shorty antennas are designed to look good, with a sleek profile and either silver or black finish. Reception of radio signals on them is typically just as good as on the factory antenna, or even a bit superior. It’s convenience where these aftermarket components shine, though. Their far lower profile (as short as 5 inches in some cases) means you can put a truck cover over them much more easily. They’re also much less likely to catch on something like a tree branch or some brush and get snapped off. Overall, the replacement also makes your Silverado look more streamlined.
