Not a true 6" lift
If you know about the suspension on these trucks you will understand. This is not a true 6" lift. It uses 5" of lift with the drop bracket and the extra inch within the spacer which is almost like putting a 5" lift kit and stacking a 1" spacer on top. I wanted to run the kit at 8" but with this kit you cannot. A bit of false advertising since they said the track width remains the same. It does not. It's slightly different from factory.Helpful (10)

Install was longer than expected
2014 3.5L Ecoboost FX4 The install time states 8-10 hours. It took 2 of us 27 strait hours (worked through the night) 38K miles using air tools so rust wasn't an issue, it was more or less having trouble getting some of the parts to line up correctly. Mainly the front and rear cross members. Once side would line up just fine and it took then some prying/hagling to get the other side to line up. Then had to remove the differential twice because we didn't cut away enough of the driver side cross member. We did everything on jack stands so being on our backs didn't help much either. Getting the rear blocks in with jack stands and had to use 3 hydraulic jacks to keep the body raised then raising one side of the rear differential while supporting the drive shaft was a bit challenging but we got it. Don't get me started on how hard getting the e-brake reconnected was, but we were probably just gassed since it was the final step. Some steps in the instructions did not pertain to my vehicle. For example I did not have to drill into my knuckles to account for bigger caliper bolts. There were no threads in the cross members to mount the skid plate and they did not include nuts for the bolts supplied to mount the skid plate so I had to get those from Home Depot to put the skid plate on. There were a few other minor things that the instructions did not clarify exactly how to do somethings but a simple google search answered them. Overall I'm very happy with the results, it just took WAY longer than we thought it would.Helpful (10)

2010 Ford F-150
The lift is great and rides smooth just like stock! The only con is that the rear blocks are 5 1/4 inches and it made the rear of my truck higher than the front. I ordered smaller blocks to level the truck. Overall- great product!Helpful (8)

Basic knowledge and tools will do
Directions a bit vague and a vehicle lift would make installation 100 easier. But all and all it's a weekend job with basic knowledge and resources.Helpful (8)

Can I use my oem 18"inch wheels with 35x12.50 tires? Would I need a spacer?
The Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit will provide adequate clearance for 35x12.50 tires, however we strongly recommend against using stock wheels, as rubbing will occur, and a large spacer would be required which can stress the studs at this tire size. Additionally most tire manufacturers list approved wheel widths of 8.5"-11" for this sizing, making your 7.5" wide OEM wheels an unsafe option for this.
Does this kit level the front with the back to remove the factory rake??
This kit will lift and will also level the front to the back of your truck.
What other Lift Kit can I put with this Rough Country Lift Kit so I can get more than 6” of Lift?
Unfortunately lift kits cannot be combined to achieve a bigger lift.
What is the reasoning for not being able to fit a 2009 4wd ?
Due to different mounting positions, this will not fit with 2009-2010 4 WD F-150's.
Why is there no driveshaft spacer? Do the rear blocks move the rear axle closer to the front of the vehicle?
The Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit will include a front driveshaft spacer. The rear driveshaft is able to be retained without the use of a spacer.
The Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit will provide clearance for 33x12.5R17 tires, however we are unable to determine if you will need spacers, as this will depend on the offset of the wheels you choose to use.
With the Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit w/ Upper Strut Spacers it is recommended to use a wheel with a 4.5" backspacing for proper fitment.
The 2 Inch lift struts would not work well with the Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit.
As the Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit w/ Upper Strut Spacers comes with rear lift blocks they would replace any rear blocks that did or did not come factory on the F-150.
Hello! The wheels do not have to be upgraded to 20" for the Rough Country 6 in. Suspension Lift Kit to work. However, we recommend the use of 8 inch wheels for 2WD models and 9 inch wheels for 4WD models with 4.5 inch backspacing for full clearance.
