How to Install Putco Boss Mesh Upper Grille Cutout - Black on your Silverado

Tools Required
  • 10mm, 7/16” Socket and Ratchet
  • Drill
  • Pliers
  • 5/16” Drill Bit
  • Allen Wrench
  • Dremel or Side Cutter
  • Small Flat Blade Screwdriver
  • Marker

Please read all instructions before beginning installation and be sure to check to see that all part


NOTE: IT IS RECOMMENDED THE INSTALLER/TECHNICIAN READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO INSTALLATION OF THIS PRODUCT.

1. Open hood.

2. Remove eight push pins from the hood shroud and set aside for re-installation.

3. Remove four 10mm bolts from the top of the grille and set aside for re-installation.

4. Carefully unclip the six retainer clips that are behind the grille near the radiator.

CAUTION: Take the proper precautions to protect the face of the grille from cosmetic damage.

5. Reposition the factory grille away from the vehicle and place on a clean nonabrasive workbench.

6. Assemble the Lower Mounting Bracket to the BOSS Grille brackets using the supplied hardware. (Fig-1)

7. Position and align the BOSS Grille inside the factory opening. Confirm that the grille is centered and aligned before attaching.

(Note: Re-adjust the lower bracket if the grille is not centered.)

8. Remove the BOSS GRILLE from the vehicle and attach the supplied Grille Fasteners to the Lower Mounting Bracket.

9. Attach the two Close-Out Panels to the top of the grille using the supplied hardware. (Passenger Side Shown Fig-1)

(Note: There is a left and right hand side. Leave hardware loose.)

10. Position and align the BOSS Grille inside the factory opening. Secure the BOSS GRILLE to the vehicle by engaging the four lower Grille Fasteners.

11. Attach the Close-Out Panels to the vehicle using the four 10mm bolts that were removed in Step-3. Verify that the grille is centered and aligned before tightening hardware.

(Note: Verify that the Factory Shroud holes line up with the Close-Out Panels. Adjustment of the Close-Out Panels may be needed.)

12. Tighten all hardware so the grille is secure.

13. Re-attach the hood shroud cover that was removed in Step-2.

14. Close hood and confirm that all components and hardware are tight and secure.
