Hey guys, it's Sara with americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install of the Proven Ground Locking Roll-Up Tonneau Cover, fitting your '07 to '13 Chevy Silverado 1500 short and standard box. This tonneau cover is perfect for the Silverado owner who's looking to get their bed covered on a budget and wants a cover that once rolled up has one of the smallest footprints. All right, so to open your cover, the first thing you're gonna do is open your tailgate, pull down on this black strap to release the cover and start to roll it up. Once it's rolled to the front of your bed, grab the straps and make sure to secure your cover with the buckles. You can also remove these center supports if you're hauling larger cargo. Just slide them out the exact opposite way that you installed them. This roll-up soft tonneau cover system features a durable vinyl cover with several aluminum supports to keep your tonneau tight and secure. It also includes heavy-duty storage straps to roll your tonneau away and secure it by the front of your bed for hauling larger cargo. So one thing to know with this cover as with any soft cover is that it's not gonna protect from theft as well as a hardcover would. It's not gonna pass the knife test but if you're looking for an inexpensive and easy way to cover the bed of your truck, this is an excellent choice. So as far as price goes, this tonneau comes in at around $250, making it the most budget-friendly way to get a tonneau cover on your Silverado. I'm giving this install a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It features a direct bolt up install with no modification required and can be done within 30 minutes. So with that said, let's jump into our install. For this install, you will need the included 3/16 Allen key. All right, so the first step in our install we're gonna grab our cover and lay it across the front of the bed of our truck. Now you can do the rails first but I find that this is a little bit easier to make sure the entire cover is lined up first before we clamp our rails down. All right. So next up, grab your rail with the opening facing towards the cab of your truck and this slot facing towards the inside of your bed. Should see a silver bracket at the back as well. Line it up on the edge of the bed. Make sure it gets over top of this tab right here on the cover. Press it on all the way and then tighten down this knob here so that it's in place. Repeat that on the other side. Line it up and press it all the way against the edge of the cover. Make sure that you're not clamping this clear tab in that. That goes on the outside. Go ahead and tighten it down. All right. So once the rails are placed evenly spaced on the truck, we're now going to install the clamps in this configuration hook, this bottom part underneath the edge of your bed and install this little gap right here onto the rail itself. Now you wanna space these about evenly with each other so this first one is gonna go as far forward as we can get it. Grab the included Allen key, go ahead and tighten them down. Moving on to the center clamp location, I'm gonna do this one right in front of this area on the bed of the truck. We wanna be shooting for the middle-ish area. As long as you're spacing them evenly, that will work fine. Go ahead and grab your Allen key and tighten these down. Now moving on to the very back portion, you're gonna try to get as far back as you can and still getting a nice even clamp on the edge of your bed. So we're gonna go right about here. Grab your Allen key and tighten it down. Repeat that process on the other side. All right, at this point, we can install the center supports. They are labeled front, middle and rear. So we're starting at the front. From one side of the bed to the other, go ahead and slide it into the opening. There should be an opening right on the rail here and that's what we're aiming for. Go ahead and repeat that process with the center one marked M and finally the rear most bar. At this point, you can unclip your cover. Make sure you get both clips. We have the other one undone already and now we can roll out the cover. Line up the cover in each side of the brackets. Press down and clip it in place. Don't forget to tuck the edges of your cover into this slot on your rail. You'll see you can start on this end where it's tapered and it'll sort of go in place and go ahead and press as you go. Make sure it stays aligned and that it's catching the edge of the rail. All right. Now you can repeat that process on the other side. And that is gonna do it for the review and install this tonneau cover. And remember for all things Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
