Justin: The Proven Ground C&L Series Sport rotors that we have here will be for the 2010 through 2020 F-150 owners looking to upgrade their worn out stock front rotors with something that will look and perform much better compared to the factory blanks. Now as far as your functionality is concerned here or features, these drilled and slotted rotors are designed to replace your existing front rotors with a cross-drilled and slotted option. Now, if you weren't aware, this design is implemented into the rotors themselves in hopes of reducing brake rotor temperatures, which in turn will also help reduce brake fade and just make for a more consistent braking performance. Now the slots will also work to help keep that pad surface a little bit cleaner. And that's always good to help ensure good pad-to-rotor contact at all times. Now as an added bonus, the drilled and slotted design also contributes to a more modified look behind your favorite set of stock or aftermarket wheels. But moving into construction, and like most of your stock or aftermarket rotors out there, you'll find that the Proven Ground options have used a cast iron construction for the C&L Series before giving them the slotted and drilled treatment. Now the rotor is then finished off in a silver zinc plating. That's just going to help keep things looking good for many years to come on your non-friction surfaces. Now finally guys, the rotors have been mill balanced before being boxed up and shipped out. That's just going to help ensure there's no weird shimmying or vibrations once installed. As far as your price point is concerned, you'll find the C&L series from Proven Ground to land for right around 200 bucks for the pair, which is marginally more expensive than just some generic blanks that you might find at your local auto parts store. You have to keep in mind, though, these are delivering that slotted and drilled treatment along with the silver zinc plating, so that might contribute to a slightly higher price point. All that being said, these options are still far more affordable than some of your other big brake kits that you might see from Wilwood, Brembo, or Baer on the site. So if you're looking to piece together your own aftermarket performing and looking system, going with something like this from the Proven Ground Series is certainly a great way to start out.Now the Proven Ground rotors have been designed to be a direct factory replacement for your F-150, meaning there's no modification needed to get everything in place. Now with that being said, you still will need to support the front of the vehicle, of course, remove the front wheels and the existing calipers and rotors first before we can swap everything out. So because of that, the site is going to kind of nudge this one up to a middle of the road, two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and call it a couple of hours or so to complete from start to finish. But now let's head out to the shop for our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Male Speaker: The tools you'll need for this project is an Impact, a 21 millimeter socket, a 10 millimeter socket, a small ratchet, a torque wrench, a brake pad spreader, a cleaning rag, some brake cleaner, and a hanger for your caliper.Hi, everyone. Today we're going to be installing a set of new rotors on our 2018 F-150. So let's get started with the uninstall process first. Our first step in the process is going to be to remove the ABS line grommet from the brake line, and then we're going to remove the brake line bracket from the steering knuckle. Now, using our 10-millimeter socket, we can disconnect the bracket from the steering knuckle. Now we can remove the two 21-millimeter bolts in the back of the caliper bracket so that we can remove the rotor. Now I recommend loosely installing one lug nut, just to keep the rotor from falling off when we lift up the caliper. All we have to do is lift the caliper up and suspend it securely to keep the tension off of the brake lines. Now you can go ahead and remove the lug nut and slide the rotor off. Now we can go ahead and slide our new rotor on and secure it with one lug nut just to make sure it doesn't fall off.Now at this point, we recommend spraying the rotor with some brake cleaner so that we can remove any solvents that may have been on there for shipping. And remember to do the backside as well. Now, depending on the condition of your brake pads, you may need to use a tool such as a pad spreader to separate those pads to go over the new wider rotor. Ours is not going to need that, so we can go ahead and slide the caliper back on.Now we can secure it with the two original bolts that we took out.Now you can tighten them down with your impact gun, but then you're also going to need your torque wrench to torque these down to factory specs. Now we can go ahead and reinstall our brake line bracket and our ABS line grommet. And we'll tighten that down using our 10 millimeter socket. Now you can repeat that process for the other side. And that wraps up our review and install of the Proven Ground C&L Series Super Sport HD Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors for the front, on our '10 to '20 F-150. Thanks for watching, and remember, for all things F-150, keep it right here at AmericanTrucks.com.

      Description

Increased Braking Performance. Greatly improve the braking performance of your 2010-2020 F-150 by installing a pair of C&L Super Sport HD Cross-Drilled and Slotted Front Rotors. These C&L Series brake rotors are far superior to the stock Ford rotors to greatly enhance the stopping power of your factory installed braking system.

Cross-Drilled and Slotted. C&L Super Sport HD Rotors feature a cross-drilled and slotted design that helps to reduce brake fade by allowing hot gasses to easily escape through the vented holes. The slotted design will sweep away dust, water and debris to keep the surface of your brake pads cleaner for reliable bite every time you hit the pedal.

Cooling Vane Design. Unlike solid aftermarket brake rotors, these C&L Series Super Sport HD Rotors feature a vented vane design with an internal chamber structure. These vented vanes will allow hot gasses to escape easier to further improve the cooling performance of your brakes. Faster heat dissipation in turn will greatly increase your F-150's braking performance.

Superior Construction. C&L manufactures its one-piece Brake Rotors from premium-grade cast iron castings. CNC machined, these Rotors are perfectly mill-balanced to prevent vibration, noise, and uneven wear. C&L Series rotors are then completed in a bright zinc electroplating treatment to provide good looks and protection against rust.

Direct Fit Replacement Upgrade. C&L designed their Cross-Drilled and Slotted Rotors to be a direct fit replacement upgrade for your F-150's stock rotors. Installation can normally be completed in under 3 hours with just basic hand tools using the existing calipers and hardware.

Application. These C&L Super Sport HD Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors; Front Pair are designed to fit 2010-2020 Ford F-150 models equipped with the factory brake calipers. Includes driver-side and passenger-side rotors.
