Hey guys, it's Sara with americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install of the Morimoto XB LED projector headlights fitting your '17 to '19 Super Duty F250 and 350 models with halogen headlights. These are perfect for the Super Duty owner who wants to upgrade their headlights to an LED projector style, and wants one with black styling as well as LED accents for a style upgrade as well. These projector headlights feature bright white LEDs with a color temperature of 5,500 Kelvin and put out 2,600 lumens. These headlights are constructed from impact-resistant clear lenses with black housings and four stacked projectors that give your truck a nice aftermarket look. These headlights are packed with a ton of features like bright white LED daytime running lights, some additional LED accent lights, and optional sequential turn signals. These headlights feature a waterproof rating of IP67 and they are DOT and SAE approved, meaning they're legal for on-road use. So as far as price goes, these headlights come in at around $1,600, which is on the higher end price-wise when compared to other options. And for your money, you are getting a projector headlight with black styling that's going to look great whether it's on or off. And it is packed with a ton of features like the white daytime running lights, optional sequential turn signals, and LED accents. All right. So as far as the install goes, I'm giving this one a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does feature a direct bolt up and plug and play install with no wiring required and can be done within one hour. So with that said, let's check out our install. For this install you will need an impact gun or a ratchet will work just fine, a 10-millimeter socket. You may want an extension and also a pop clip removal tool. All right. So the first step in our uninstall with the hood pops, we're going to remove all of the pop clips holding on our rad support cover. Moving on to the rest of our pop clips. And we also need to take this pop clip up here. It comes off the same way. It's just a slightly different style. All right, now you can grab your cover and remove it off your truck. Next up, we're going to remove the eight 10-millimeter bolts along the outside of the grille so we can pull it off. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and a ratchet or impact, and get these removed. With all of the bolts removed, grab the grille and pull back towards you to release the plastic clips. All right. So there is one bolt that is difficult on the headlight. This one is right in between the bumper and fender. If you peel down this rubber, you can see it right in there. Grab a 10-millimeter socket, and I'm using a long extension just to get the gun a little bit farther away from the paint. Go ahead and remove this bolt. And remove the 10-millimeter on top of your headlight. All right. Once all the bolts are out of the headlight, grab it and pull it straight back towards you. Once it's released off the truck, go ahead and undo all of the connectors. And remove it.All right, now that we have our factory headlight uninstalled from our truck, we can check it out side by side with our new headlight here. Now, as you can see, they do have a visual difference. These have a black housing and the four stacked projectors plus the LED bar, giving it that more aftermarket look when compared to the factory. They also have an important functional difference as well. Those four projectors are a different style of lens, getting you a brighter and more focused beam of light when compared to the factory reflector. Now, keep in mind this particular truck did have LEDs in their factory reflector as opposed to the halogen bulbs. So that will be a little bit brighter than factory. So keep that in mind when you're comparing them. Now, as for these, they also feature the LED around the outside, which is a nice accent and can be used with either sequential turn signals or your regular turn signal, depending on your install. So with that said, let's get right into our install. All right. So I just wanted to point out we are deliberately leaving this unplugged. Now, if you were to plug this in, you'll get a normal turn signal. Unplugged will get you the sequential. And we want to show you the full function of this headlight, so we're not going to plug this in. What we will plug in are these two up here. This will go to your main harness for your high and low beams. We're not using this gray one right here. The tan connector will go to the one right next to it. Make sure it's plugged all the way in until you hear a click. We're also going to plug in the amber bulb to this one back here. Now you can route your wiring. Couldn't hurt to throw a couple of zip ties on here. We're going to line up the headlight in the truck. Now, it's very important that the headlight goes behind this seal. So try to get it behind there, if not, you can always peel it back later on with your finger. Make sure your wiring is pulled back and slide your headlight in place. Install your factory hardware. Grab your 10-millimeter socket to tighten it down. Keep in mind this bracket is plastic so you don't need to kill it.Now we can install the two bolts on the inside of the headlight. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and you may want a small extension to tighten these down. Peel back your weatherstripping and line up your bolt to the factory mounting location. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Make sure you tuck back in this weatherstripping when you're finished. All right. Now, we're going to repeat that process on the other side, starting with the one bolt in the corner. This is the hardest one to get to. Grab your 10-millimeter socket. And again, I'm using the extension just to get the gun a little bit farther away from the paint. Go ahead and remove it.All right. Now we're going to remove the two bolts on the inside of the headlight. Grab your 10-millimeter socket, and I have a small extension. Get these removed. And finally the bolt on the very top of your headlight. With all of the bolts removed, you can grab your headlight and pull straight towards you. Now you can press down and tilt it out. And disconnect all of your connectors. We're going to start with the turn signal bulb up here. Move on to our main connectors. And finally, we have the amber bulb in the center. All right. So we're going to start by disconnecting the sequential connector. If you leave these together you'll just have regular turn signals. As I said before, we want to show you the full functionality so we're going to disconnect them. Line up your headlight with the truck. We're going to start to plug in all of our connectors. We're going to start with the tan connector here. This one goes to the yellow, white, black connector. Line them up and press them into place. Now, again, we're not using this gray one. This black will go into the main connector. And for the side turn signal, go ahead and plug that one in here.Organize your wiring. You may want to zip tie it out of place. Make sure it's just not dangling or in the way. Again, you want your headlight to be behind this weatherstripping at the bottom. Line it up on the truck. There are several pins and press it into place. All right. Now we can install the hardware. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten it down. All right. Now we can install the two bolts on the inside of the headlight. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten them down. Moving on to the bolt in the side. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Make sure you tuck back in the weatherstripping when you're done. All right. Now you can line up the grille and pop it back into place. All right. Now we can re-install the hardware that goes in the top of your grille. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten it down. All right. Now we can re-install the rad support cover, making sure to tuck in this section and also tuck it in underneath this intake section. We're going to start at this end of the rad support cover, installing the odd pop clip out first, and then we'll install the rest of them. All right. So that is going to do it for the review and install of these headlights. And remember for all things Super Duty, keep it at americantrucks.com.
