Justin: So, if you're a fan of the Morimoto quality but you really can't justify the higher price of some of their more top-shelf options, well, then you might wanna consider the Morimoto XB hybrids that we have here today for your 17 through 19 F-250 at home. Now, the hybrids will feature that black housing topped off with a clear lens along with your LED daytime running lights and modern projectors offered just north of that $1,000 price point. So, the hybrid for Morimoto is a great choice for truck owners who want a very high-quality light loaded with some cool accent lighting but don't wanna drop the nearly $2,000 plus on the Morimoto top-shelf options. Now, the hybrid gets its name because it is gonna combine some modern LED lighting with a little bit of factory incandescent lighting, hence the hybrid name, and is, ultimately, again, gonna be a great way to keep the cost down a little bit compared to the more premium options. But make no mistake about it here again, a majority of your lighting from Morimoto, even with the hybrid, is LED-powered. Now, this does include both your high and low beams loaded with those modern projectors. Now, you're also getting the very cool white daytime running lights that illuminate with your parking lights or your headlights, and those LEDs do feature the same OSRAM technology, by the way, that is gonna be found in the more expensive options and will shine at a nice bright white 5000K color temp. Now, the [inaudible 00:01:23] of incandescent lighting here will be the turn signal bulb, which does get transferred over from your factory headlights. And that's pretty much it, guys, again, a majority of the light is modern, is LED, and certainly looks great as well. Now, all of that lighting is loaded into the ABS black plastic housing topped off with your clear polycarbonate lens here. And again, these are just kind of really giving your truck a much more modern vibe, almost a little bit more reminiscent of, like, some of the Raptor styling that I really love and will be a great visual upgrade on top of the great functionality upgrade as well. Now, the hybrids do meet and exceed all DOT and SAE requirements, meaning these are gonna be legal for use in all 50 states. And they are backed by the same five-year warranty as the more expensive options from Morimoto, which really is impressive, given the slightly more budget-friendly nature of the hybrids.Install is gonna get a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, according to the site, strong one out of three that is, and take about an hour or so to complete from start to finish. But hang with me for a bit, we'll walk you through that job later in the video.Man 1: Tools used for this installation, 3/8 electric impact gun, plastic-clip removal tool, flat-blade screwdriver, 3/8 extension, 10-millimeter 3/8 socket, 1/4-inch drive extension, 10-millimeter 1/4 drive socket, and 1/4 drive ratchet.Hey, guys, I'm gonna show you how to install our Morimoto LED headlights on our 2018 F-250. But first we're going to watch a quick uninstall video on how to uninstall our headlights, and then we'll drop right back into the installation.Man 2: All right, guys. Now, obviously, before we can get our new headlights installed, we're gonna have to do some uninstall work here and get our old factory headlights out. To do that, we're gonna remove the radiator shroud as well as the grille cover here. And so, let's go ahead and get started with that. All right, guys, now, to get the radiator shroud off, we have a whole series of these locking pins here. If you've never worked with these before, they're basically two pieces. You lift up the center piece that unlocks it and then you pull up on the base. All you need is a flat-head screwdriver to do that. All right, guys, with all the pins removed, go ahead and you're gonna have to pull out on the passenger side here a little bit to get this tab out from under. And then just lift it away. All right, guys, next up we're gonna remove about 8 of these bolts here using a 10-millimeter socket. Right now, with those bolts out from the top, all we have holding our grille on is a series of locking tabs that kind of push into slots that are mounted on the frame behind it. So, all we're gonna need to do is grab onto the grille and give it a nice gentle but deliberate pull and we should be able to get our grille off.All right, guys, we're gonna have a total of four 10-millimeter bolts we're gonna have to take out for each headlight, and we're gonna start at the bottom here. I'm kind of peeling down this rubber weather stripping here, it's between our bumper and our fender. And then I have a 10-millimeter socket on an extension. I'll take this out.All right, guys, now we have two on the inside here. Again, a 10-millimeter... All right, guys, now we have the last one up on top here. Right now the only thing holding in the headlight at this point now we have those four bolts out, a little bit of a locking tab. Just kind of pull it out like that... I'm lifting it down kinda gently here. We're gonna unplug all of this before we pull our headlight away. We've got a total of four harnesses that we're gonna unplug here.Man 1: So, first thing we're gonna do now that we have our headlight removed is we're gonna take our new daytime running light harness and we're going to install it into our fuse box, we're going to look for terminal number 35, we're going to plug this into that and then run our harness along the red support down in so that we can install it into our new headlights. So, now that we located our fuse box over here, on the passenger side, we're just gonna push these two clips, remove our fuse box. We're gonna take our red wire, we're gonna find part 35 on our fuse box, which is gonna be right here. So, we're just gonna bend this wire back here...install that into the fuse box...bend the wire down inside here. It might pop out just because it's bending the wire but you just push it down until you get it to clip in. And now that I have it in, we'll put our cover back on, put it in place. And we have that locked in. Now we're gonna run our wire alongside the battery here and up to the front of the vehicle. So, now that we have our harness run alongside our battery, what I'm gonna do is just fish our connector down inside here...and we'll be installing that in a little bit. If you want, on our vehicle, since we're already removing this, I'm not going to take the time to tie it all up but you could use wire ties to tie this up. So, now I'm gonna fish it over on the other side, run it behind here, get back in there and drop it down for the other light just like I dropped this one in for this light. So, now we're ready to install our connectors. First thing I'm gonna do is start by installing our brown one first. Next, we'll install our daytime running light harness. Next, we'll install our shorter connector here. And last, we'll do the gray one, and we'll leave that black one alone. So, now that we have them all installed, we're gonna make sure we put them back in here so they don't get pinched. So, now I'm gonna install the headlight back into the truck. I'm gonna make sure the harnesses are back in place so they don't get pinched...drop this down in the side here... Now that we have it in place, we'll start our bolts and finish buttoning this headlight up.So, now we're gonna install our four 10-millimeters back in place. We have one up here, two on the side, one in the bottom. I'm gonna take my 10-millimeter socket and extension, get this one started...take my gun. And I'm gonna run it in but I'm not gonna tighten it yet because I wanna get them all started. Now, we'll do the two on the side. So, now we're gonna install our two 10-millimeters here, 1 here and 1 up top here. I'm gonna take my 3/8 gun with my 10-millimeter and get these in and tightened up.Now that I have those two tightened up, I'm just going to go up and tighten the top one up. And now we'll get the one on the side. I'm gonna use a 1/40-inch drive ratchet here with a skinnier socket to get in this corner. One right down in here. So, now I'm gonna put the 10-millimeter bolt up in this little wheel well right in here. It's hard to see... And I'll get it started...take my 10-millimeter, my 1/4-inch drive ratchet, and we'll tighten this one up...put our rubber back in place. So, now you're gonna wanna just do this whole headlight installation procedure on the opposite side. So, now that we got our headlights installed in our vehicle, now we're gonna start and reassemble our grille. Pretty much it's gonna be the same process as removing it. We're gonna take it, push it in place. There's two clips over here, two clips over here, and the bolts up top. So, now we're just gonna line our tabs up next door headlight there, do the same on this side. Once we get it in place, we just wanna give it a shove like that. So, now I'm gonna take my eight 10-millimeters, I'm gonna start them first, and then I'm gonna take my 3/8 electric gun with my 10-millimeter socket and tighten them up.So, now I'm gonna take my 3/8 electric gun with my 10-millimeter, tighten these up. Remember, if you're using a gun like this, you wanna make sure you don't tighten them too much because it is plastic, you will break the thread insert inside the plastic. So, now we'll install our plastic rad-support cover. We wanna drop it down in place here. You wanna make sure that, on this side here, you get it underneath your air intake. And once you have it in place, what we'll do is start installing our push clips. The key is not to drop them all over the floor, like I'm doing. These push clips that we have on our truck here have been used a lot, so, it might be a little bit of trouble getting back in compared to the ones that you have on your vehicle. And we have some up top here... And we got one more over here. That wraps up this review and install of our Morimoto XB Hybrid LED Headlights, Black Housing, Clear Lenses for 17 to 19 F-250 Super Duties with Factory Halogen Headlights. Thanks for watching. And for all things F-250, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
