Justin: Hey. What's going on, guys? Justin with americantrucks.com. And today, we are taking a closer look at and installing these LED Tail Lights available for all non-blind spot equipped 2018 through 2020 F150s. Now, you guys should be checking out these options if you're looking to level up your factory tail lights as one reviewer put it by switching to a full LED option complete with the smoked red running light, and an array of bright red LEDs handling things like your brake lights and, of course, your turn signal duties. All right, guys, first things first when it comes to features, you are going to be upgrading your entire tail light experience to a full LED option. Now, this means a much brighter, longer-lasting tail light in every way. Now those LEDs can be found in the smoked red daytime running light that encircles the entire tail light housing and cast a very cool glow, thanks to the fused LEDs, meaning you're seeing more of a consistent bar of light and not the individual diodes. Personally, I think this just gives off a higher-quality result, but that's just my 2 cents. Now in the middle of that running light, you're gonna find these two blocks here of LEDs. Now, most of which are gonna be red, those will, of course, handle things like your brake lights and your turn signals. However, the bottom row of the top block and the top row of the bottom block are white LEDs. I know that sounds a bit confusing, but those are in place and those, of course, will handle your reverse light duty. So, again, 100% LED option, you're getting rid of all that cheap, dull incandescent lighting and really stepping up your game with the tail lights. Now, moving into construction, these tail lights are gonna be built to the exact same factory specifications as your OEM tail lights, so therefore, you can expect a great fit. Now housings will be that ABS plastic while the lenses themselves are gonna feature an impact-resistant polycarbonate material. Now, if you look closely on the LED block here, at least the clear portion, they do have a very light smoke to them, which I personally enjoy. It's still enough to achieve the DOT and SAE stamp of approval which makes them legal for use in all 50 states. But at the same time, it's still gonna give you a little bit of that aggressiveness as well without being totally dark and basically unusable. At right around 400 bucks, these LED options will fall on that mid to high end of the price spectrum with only the Raxiom and Morimoto options coming in just a bit higher than these. Switching gears, let's get into the install. And site's gonna call this one a pretty run-of-the-mill, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you no longer than an hour to complete from start to finish, thanks largely in part to that plug-and-play design. But now what do you say, we grab our toolbox? Let's head out to this shop for our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: The tools you'll need for this project are a 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch drive ratchet and an 8-millimeter socket. Hi, everyone. Today, we're installing a set of tail lights on our F150. So, let's get started with the uninstall of the stock tail lights first. Once you've got your tailgate open, there are two 8-millimeter bolts holding each light in place. So we're gonna go ahead and take those out using our 8-millimeter socket. And once you've got your bolts out, you just slide the light out and disconnect the harness here by pressing on the release tab and pulling out. And to install our new lights, we're just going to reverse that procedure by plugging the two sockets together. Now there are three alignment pins on your new lights, two of them are metal here on the edge, and one plastic one on the inside. What you wanna do is line up the bottom one on the outside and the plastic pin on the inside and then line up the outside one and push it in. Now, we can go ahead and reinsert our original hardware and tighten them down with our 8-millimeter socket. And now you can repeat that whole process for the other side. And that wraps up our review and install of our LED Tail Lights with the Chrome Housing and Red Smoked Lens for the '18 to '20 F150 with Factory Halogen Non-BLIS Tail Lights. Thanks for watching. And remember, for all things F150, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
