Hey guys, it's Sara with americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install of the LED DRL Projector Headlights with clear corners, black housings and clear lenses fitting your '09 to '14 F150s with factory halogen headlights. This is perfect for the F150 owner who's looking to replace their headlights with an upgrade over the factory reflectors. These headlights feature an updated design with projector style lenses and LED accent light bars. They are constructed from clear polycarbonate lenses with clear corners and black housings to give your truck a more modern and blacked out look. They also feature bright, white LED accent bars and are DOT and SAE compliant meaning they're legal for on-road use. So as far as the price goes, these come in at around $350 for the pair putting them about middle of the road price-wise when compared to other options, and for your money, you are getting a projector style headlight with black styling and accent LEDs. And as far as the install goes, I'm giving this one a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does require some minor wiring but all in all, can be done within two hours. So with that said, let's check out our install. For this install you will need an impact gun or a ratchet will work just fine, a 10-millimeter socket and a wire crimping tool. All right. So the first step in our install, with the hood popped, we're gonna remove the two bolts on the top of the headlight. Grab a 10-millimeter socket and let's get these removed. We're also gonna remove the bolt on the inside of the headlight. This is also a 10-mil. With all the bolts removed, grab your headlight and pull straight towards you. Now you're gonna disconnect each of the connectors, push down on the tab and pull them away. Now before we can install the new headlight, we do have to transfer over two of these bolts. Start with the smallest, the gray connector, the marker light and transfer it over. Install it in your new headlight the same way that it came out of the old one. Repeat that with the brown connector. Install the amber bulb in your new headlight. Now the final step is that we have to supply power and ground for our accent LEDs. Now there's lots of different ways to wire these up. I'm gonna show you one way but you're welcome to do anything as long as these get power and ground. So what I'm gonna do here is install one of these spade connectors, crimping it on there, one on the power side, one on the ground side. Once you crimp it, it can't hurt to just double check you have a good connection and then repeat that for our black ground wire. All right. So as you can see, we already have vampire clips installed on the factory wiring. Now these are the quickest way to get some power and ground to these connectors. Of course, there's a lot of different ways to wire. This is just one way but it is nice that they're disconnectable. So what we're gonna do here is get the power wire. This is gonna go to the white and green on our truck. You wanna be sure of which wire you're tapping into. Just make sure this one has power. So we'll go to your red power wire and then this one would be the ground. Black and green would go to our black wire. Now we can connect the rest of our connectors starting with this gray one that we tapped power into, and again, you can get power and ground from wherever you like. We're just getting it from the side marker light here. Next up, we're gonna plug in the brown connector. And finally, to the wiring harness on our headlight, we're gonna connect the main gray connector. Make sure you grab all of the wiring and tuck it away. Throwing a couple zip ties on there does not hurt. And then what we're gonna do is grab the entire headlight, line it up and press it into place. With the headlight in place, you can now reinstall the factory hardware. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Make sure you install the third bolt on the inside of the headlight. All right. So now that we have our factory headlight uninstalled from our truck, we can check it out side by side with our new headlight here. And as you can see, the biggest visual difference is the black styling on your new headlight. It has a black surround to give you that more modern look when compared to the reflector of your factory. In addition, there's also a functional difference as well. This one features a projector style lens which means you're getting a brighter and more focused beam of light when compared to the reflector style of your factory. So with that said, let's finish up our install. All right. To finish up your install, you're gonna repeat those steps on the other side. That is going to do it for the review and install of these headlights. And remember, for all things F150, keep it at americantrucks.com.
