How to Install E & G Fine Mesh Upper Overlay Grilles - Chrome (16-17 Silverado 1500) on your Chevy Silverado

1. Remove the twelve factory push pins from the radiator support panel cover and remove the cover for factory grille mounting hardware access.

2. Remove the four upper 10mm bolts retaining the factory grille to the core support.

3. Lift up on the factory grille and pull the grille forward to release the top of the grille from the core support.

4. Use a long, flat blade screwdriver or pry bar to release the side and lower clips retaining the bottom of the factory grille.

Place the factory grille face up onto a clean, well padded work area for the following grille installation.

5. The outer mounting holes for the mesh grilles will need to be drilled through the air flow panel behind the grille using a 5/16” drill bit at the inner corner recesses of the factory grille (see arrow). A total of 6 holes need to be drilled.

6. Trim the closed ends form the preinstalled black cap plugs and reinstall the caps onto the bottom mounting studs on the mesh grille sections (chrome mesh shown, “Black Ice” and “Stacked” grille procedure is the same).

7. Align the grille assemblies over the factory grille, making sure the mounting studs pass through the holes drilled in the previous step. Once the grilles are prefectly centered, use wide masking tape to hold the grilles in place for the following hardware installation.

8. Place the grille faced down and install the supplied large black plastic washers and #8-32 ESNA half nuts and tighten until the washers no longer freely rotate.

9. Install the #8-32 ESNA half nuts and tighten until the grille is tight against the factor y insert. You will not need washers, the black out panel will work for these six studs..

10. Reinstall the grille assembly by reversing Steps 1-4. Remove the masking tape, the protective surround covering and use a mild solvent to remove any glue residue. Clean the grille with glass cleaner to remove any solvent resude to finish the installation.
