Hey, guys. It's Sara with americantrucks.com and today we have a review and install of the RedRock 4x4 OE Replacement Fender Flares, fitting your '15 to '17 F-150 with the factory flares and excluding the Raptor. These are perfect for the F-150 owner with factory flares who is looking for an OE-style replacement that features a nice matte black finish. You can leave as-is or paint to match your truck. So in general, fender flares are a great way to protect the fender of your truck. They prevent scuffs and scratches but that leaves them susceptible to damage themselves. So if you have a set that's looking worse for wear or they're damaged and you need to replace them, these are an excellent OE replacement option. These OE-style fender flares feature an automotive-grade polypropylene construction with a UV-treated matte black finish. These fender flares are sold as a set of four and feature direct bolt-up install for those of you who had fender flares from the factory. They also include additional plastic clips for ease of install. And as far as price goes, these flares come in at around $150 for all 4, making them a budget-friendly way to replace the fender flares on your truck. And as far as the install goes, I'm giving this one a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does feature a direct bolt-up install if you have factory flares, as I've said before, and can be done within two hours. So with that said, let's check out that install. For this install, we used an electric ratchet, but a regular hand ratchet will work just fine. You'll also need 7-millimeter and 10-millimeter sockets, pop clip removal tools. You may also want a flathead screwdriver and a hammer. All right. So we're starting this uninstall at the back of our truck. The first thing we're gonna do is remove the mud flap at the back of the wheel well. To remove this mud flap, what we're gonna do is remove these two metal clips to start, and you can use a flathead and sort of get under and try to pry it off. But if it doesn't wanna come off, you can also grab a hammer and just lightly tap it and remove it from there. Repeat that with the other metal clip. There should be two.Next up, what we're gonna do is remove this pop clip. Now, you can go behind it here, but it does get a little bit flimsy. So another option is to go behind the mud flap itself and pop it out. Now we're gonna move on to two bolts holding on this mud flap. There's one right here. It's sort of towards the inside and it's pretty visible. Grab a 7-millimeter socket and a ratchet. Go ahead and get this removed. Now, this one may be a little bit hard to see, but we're underneath the mud flap. There's one more bolt blocking it right underneath there towards the wheel side. With a 7-millimeter socket, we're gonna get this removed. And with the bolt removed, go ahead and remove the mud flap. Now, there's several pop clips holding on the inside of the factory fender flare. What we're gonna do is use a trim panel or pop flip removal tool to get these removed.Next up, this one's a little bit farther down the wheel well, same thing. Now, if you need a little bit of extra prying, you can use a second one or a flathead screwdriver to get it removed. Now you can repeat that for the final pop flip. This one is towards the front of the wheel well. Same thing, using pop clip removal tool, go ahead and get it removed. And then there's one more bolt at the front of the fender flare right underneath. This is a 10-mil. So grab a 10-millimeter socket and get this removed.Next up, we're gonna remove the fender flare off of the truck. Now, the only thing holding this on still are several clips behind it. These OEM-style clips and you probably will break a few when you're removing this. So what you're gonna do is grab starting at the corner and just pull straight back to release. Now, if any of these clips are left behind, what we're gonna do is use a pop clip tool to get these off. And because I'm using the metal one, because we do need a little bit more leverage, what I'm gonna do is just put a rag behind it so we don't risk scratching our truck as we pry it off. Repeat that process with any of these clips that may have been left behind. And now before we can install our fender flare, go ahead and wipe down the area that it's gonna sit over top. Now we can install the new fender flare. I will point out that they do have clips pre-installed on there, which is nice, so you don't have to reuse your factory. What we're gonna do is line up all of those clips with the factory holes and press them into place. And now with the fender flare in place, you can replace the factory pop clips. Repeat that with the remaining two holes. And now we can replace the bolt at the front of the fender flare. Go ahead and thread in your factory bolts. And with that 10-millimeter socket, tighten it down. And now we can re-install the mud flap itself. We're gonna start by pressing in that pop clip up top and it begin to line it up over our new flare. And now once that is in, we can line up the rest of our hardware. We're starting with that small 7-millimeter bolts at the back and grab your 7-millimeter socket to tighten it down. Now you can re-install the clips holding on the fender flare to the mud flap. Let's go ahead and press them over top. And don't forget to re-install the bolts underneath the mud flap. Again, this one might be a little bit hard to see. Grab your 7-millimeter socket and tighten it down. All right. Now the rear is complete. We're moving on to the front flare. The uninstall is very similar to the rear, so let's jump in and get started. Now we're gonna start with these metal clips. Same as the rear. You can work them off with a flathead. You can also give them a bit of a tap with a hammer just to get them loose. And there are four upfront, so continue to remove these. Now, the fourth one is all the way on the inside of the wheel well, here. Might be a little bit harder to see, but go ahead and use the same process to remove it. Now, the last thing holding on this front mud flap is a pop clip right underneath here right in that general area. Now you can try to dig in with your pop clip tool there, or what you can do is grab the top of your mud flap and just push straight down to release it.Now we can remove the pop clips underneath the fender flare. There should be three on each side. Go ahead and use a pop clip removal tool to remove these. Next up, with your 7-millimeter socket, go ahead and remove both of these bolts at the front of the wheel well. Now that everything is disconnected, we can pull the fender off of the truck. Now, there are several ways to do this. You can just pull like we did in the rear. If you'd like, you can put a tool in the top here to release each of these individually, but you do risk damaging the paint. So what we're gonna do here is go ahead and just pull straight backwards to release this flare. Now, if you've left any of these plastic clips behind, we do need to remove them. And what we're gonna do is I have a metal pop clip removal tool here. And, again, I'm using this rag just to ensure that it doesn't make any scratches on the paint. Just go ahead and pop it out. Same with this yellow one here. And repeat that for any that may be left behind. All right. And now that we have our factory flare uninstalled from our truck, we can check it out side by side with our new flare here. Now, these may appear very similar to you because this is an OE-style replacement. So it has the same size and shape as your factory flare. It also features a polypropylene construction and the biggest difference here is it comes with a matte black finish. You can leave as-is or paint to match your truck similar to that of the factory flare. So with that said, let's go ahead and finish up our install. Now, before you install the new flare, you may wanna give that part of your fender a little bit of a wipe-down to ensure that there's no dirt left behind from the old one. And now we can line up and install the new flare. Now, make sure all of these pre-installed clips are lined up with the holes on your truck and press them into place. And now that your fender is attached to the truck, what you can do is re-install these pop clips. We're just using the factory pop clips. They did come out nicely, so we're just reinstalling them. You may have to press in on your flare a little bit to get it to line up. And now we can re-install the mud flap to the outside of the fender flare. We have that pop clip already pre-installed in there, and it's gonna go right underneath in that opening. Maybe a little bit hard to see from this angle, but it's sort of the reverse, how you uninstalled. Go ahead and line it up and press it into place. Now we can re-install the metal clips. And repeat that for the rest of your metal clips. And don't forget that final clip all the way to the inside. Again, this one might be a little bit hard to see. And now you can reinstall the factory hardware at the front of your fender flare. And with your 7-millimeter socket, tighten it down. All right. So now that we're done with the passenger side install, you're gonna repeat all of those steps to install your driver's side flares. And once you've done that, that is gonna do it for the review and install of these fender flares, and remember, for all things F-150, keep it at americantrucks.com.
