Description
Keeps Oil Separate. Heavy use can cause a great deal of oil to vent through the crankcase vent. Your engine’s PCV system feeds this waste oil back into the intake system for burning in the cylinders. However, the oil can dilute fuel and lower octane. The J&L V3.0 Black Oil Separator catches the oil fumes from the crankcase vent, storing them for occasional safe disposal. The oil separator keeps your fuel pure, ensuring maximum performance in your F-150.
Version 3.0. J&L improved on the designed of its old Oil Separator with the introduction of the new and improved Version 3.0. The first big change you will notice is that the Version 3.0 Separator has a larger 3 oz. capacity, that is almost double that of its previous model. However, if you install the included Canister Extension you will double that capacity to 6 oz. Another important difference is the filter media. Older J&L Separators used a Ford Motorcraft pre-filter, but now J&L uses a 1/2" thick 1/16th" aluminum honeycomb filter with a mesh stainless steel screen to trap even more fine oil vapors than before. That helps prevent them from gumming up your engine.
Superior Quality. This J&L Oil Separator Company Air/Oil Separator is proudly manufactured in the USA. J&L CNC-machines its Air/Oil Separator from a solid block of billet aluminum for superior strength. Designed with a rubber o-ring, this Separator will maintain a tight leak-free seal. The base features a knurled texture, so that it can easily be gripped for removal during routine oil changes. J&L then completes the Catch Can in a durable black anodized finish for impressive good looks and long lasting corrosion resistance.
Easy Straight Forward Installation. J&L designed their Separator to be an easy straight forward install that can be completed in under 30 minutes using basic hand tools. The included PCV silicone hoses feature pre-attached stock-style quick-disconnect fittings making J&L's Catch Can a true plug-n-play upgrade. All the necessary brackets and hardware are included with no cutting or extra modifications required.
Not CARB Certified. This J&L Oil Separator Company Air/Oil Separator is not CARB certified at this time; therefore, it is not legal for use in California or other states adopting California emission standards. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only.
