Description
Backup Camera Kit Overview. The Backup Camera Kit features an OnStar® rearview mirror with an integrated 4.3" color display that automatically activates when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. It improves rear visibility, highlighting the rear bumper and trailer hitch area for enhanced safety and convenience during parking and towing. The system preserves all factory mirror functions including OnStar® controls, compass, and temperature display for a seamless user experience.
Construction and Appearance. This kit includes a premium Super CMOS sensor camera housed in an OEM GM® bezel for a genuine factory appearance. The mirror is an OE-style replacement with a wedge mount and an auto-dimming screen. Both camera and mirror feature an IP67 rating for waterproof and dustproof durability, ensuring reliable performance in various weather conditions.
Installation. Installation requires replacing the existing tailgate bezel and factory OnStar® mirror. The system uses a pre-loomed wiring harness that allows for a quick tailgate disconnect near the spare tire area. Professional installation is recommended for optimal results.
Warranty. The camera includes a 3-year warranty, and the mirror is covered by a 1-year warranty.
Application. Designed specifically to fit 07-08 Silverado 1500 models without a passenger airbag indicator light. The product requires replacement of the factory temperature sensor if equipped to maintain temperature display accuracy.
