Hey, guys. Adam here with americantrucks.com. Today we're taking a quick look at and installing the BedRug Bed Mat available for the 2015 to 2018 F-150. So, if you're the owner of an F-150 and you're constantly hauling around delicate cargo in your bed, something that you don't want to be damaged on a hard surface, or if you're hauling around cargo that you don't want damaging your bed itself, it's a good idea to get a bed mat. This option from BedRug is 100% ultra-tough polypropylene which is a stain-resistant, water-resistant, and chemical-resistant material. It feels like a carpet, acts like a carpet, and treats all of your cargo as if it was on a comforted, padded carpeting. This is gonna protect not only your bed from getting scratched, dented, or otherwise stained from other cargo, but it's also going to protect all of your cargo from getting damaged. This is gonna be a perfect fit to your bed hugging every turn and curve going around your wheel well arches. It's gonna adhere to the bed and stay in place using Velcro and 3M-backed tape. That way you don't damage the bed using the 3M and if you're using a bed liner, whether its factory or aftermarket, you'll just shave it down and use adhesive promoter to make sure that those 3M tape will stick. So, as you can see, it's in place and it doesn't move. If you ever wanted to remove it, it detaches from those Velcro strips. If you wanted to remove the Velcro strips from your bed, just use a heat gun and it will peel right off. And lastly, this entire material is slip and skid resistant. So, if you're constantly hopping in and out of your bed, you might wanna be making sure that you have something that's gripping your step, so you're not gonna slip and fall. Obviously, it can be pretty dangerous, especially if you're using a work truck. This is all slip and skid resistant. This whole BedRug Bed Mat is about 100 bucks which I think is a worthwhile investment if you're constantly in fear that your cargo's gonna get damaged or your bed is gonna get damaged. The installation very, very simple. One out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Took less than 15 minutes to install. You don't need any hand tools. The only thing I would recommend having is a soap and water mixture and a squirt bottle and a rag or some alcohol wipes which I'll be using myself. First step of the install here, we're actually just gonna grab our entire BedRug and place it on top of our bed. Now, you wanna make sure you're putting it side-specific because it is very much cut a certain way. As you can see, there are wide cutouts on this side. The small ones here are gonna go up toward your windshield. There are larger cutouts at the other end for your wheel well arches, which will be toward your tailgate. Now, that we have our BedRug all laid out exactly where we want it to be, we're gonna fold back one side here and as you can see, it's already got a piece of Velcro stitched to the inside of the materials here. We have another stripe that's gonna attach to the Velcro and adhere using 3M tape to the bottom of our bed. Now, that's not gonna damage our paint whatsoever. If you ever wanted to remove it, you could just use a heat gun and it would peel right off. Now, before we can apply this, what I wanna do is take an alcohol wipe and clean off the bed liner. That way our 3M gets a really good bond with our paint. If you don't have alcohol wipes, soap and water does the trick as well as long as you're just completely and thoroughly cleaning off any dirt or dust. Now this, you can fold back and see where it's gonna line up. It's gonna line up right on this indent right here. So, we're gonna use this and just completely wipe off this area. Once that's taken care off, take your Velcro strip and place it on the Velcro already on your BedRug. Just stick that all along. Now, that we have our liner here, we'll be able to peel this back and stick it onto our paint. Now, before we do this, I wanna point out, as you can see, our 2018 F-150 does not have a bed liner from the factory. If you do have a bed liner from the factory or if you have an aftermarket one or a Line-X already applied to your bed, you're gonna have to take sandpaper or steel wool and scuff the area that you're gonna be applying this to. Clean it off completely and use the adhesion promoter provided in the kit to get that to get a good bond. Since we're using a bare paint bed with no bed liner, absolutely no adhesion promoter is gonna be used. That will damage and rip off your paint if you ever decide to remove this. So, since we're not gonna be using a bed liner from the factory, we're not using adhesion promoter. Now, we have this already cleaned off with our alcohol wipes. It's time to peel off the red backing on our 3M. Now that we have that liner already removed, we can just apply it to our bed. Make sure you're putting a lot of pressure all around it so it gets a good bond. It might actually be a good idea to stand up and just stand and walk on it. Doing the same thing over on the other side. You wanna grab your alcohol wipe or your soap and water and you clean off that area. From here, apply your strip. All right. Now, once this is applied, you don't wanna store this in a super cold place. At least 68 to 70 degrees. That way your 3M tape can get a really good and solid bond with your truck. If it's too cold, it won't bond up. You wanna get it nice and warm in a decent outside environment that will start warming it up. From there, you're good to go. That's gonna wrap up my quick review and install of the BedRug Bed Mat for the 2015 to 2018 F-150. If you don't wanna damage your cargo or if you don't want your cargo damaging your bed and if you want a nice, comfortable bed liner that is slip and skid resistant, this is a great option and you can get yours right here at americantrucks.com.
