It replaces stock transmissions to handle increased power and torque, improving overall drivetrain reliability under demanding conditions.
Construction and Appearance. Constructed with a heavy-duty aluminum HD deep pan that increases oil capacity by 6 quarts, this transmission features a fully rollerized geartrain, machined center support, and reworked front pump. The assembly includes drilled and tapped feeds to prevent leaks and upgraded internal components designed for strength and longevity.
Installation. Installation requires an estimated time of 7 hours and does not generally involve drilling. Proper installation includes using the BD torque converter to maintain warranty validity.
Warranty. This transmission is backed by a 36-month/150,000-mile parts warranty and a 12-month/24,000-mile labor warranty, providing extensive coverage and peace of mind.
Application. Designed specifically for the 99-03 7.3L Powerstroke F-250 Super Duty, fitment notes include the requirement of the 4wd model for 2wd vehicles with driveline brakes and the exclusion of BD Deep Pan on Excursion models due to crossmember interference.
