Reliable Engine Safety. The BD Power Diesel Positive Air Shut-Off; Manual Controlled is designed to provide emergency engine shutdown by cutting off the air supply to the engine. It is used in the rare event of diesel engine runaway, which occurs when external hydrocarbons cause the engine to overspeed. This device safely shuts down the engine, protecting life, limb, and equipment from catastrophic damage.
Construction and Appearance. This product features a butterfly valve positioned inline within the air intake system. It uses durable aluminum and stainless steel components combined with weatherproof electrical connectors to prevent corrosion. The design includes unique locking lever and bead lock systems, reducing the need for welding and simplifying installation, while ensuring secure fitment.
Installation. Installation typically requires about 3 hours and is straightforward thanks to the bead lock design that eliminates the need for welding. No extensive drilling or complex modification is necessary in most cases.
Warranty. This product comes with a 24-month or 24,000-mile parts warranty.
