Hey, guys. It's Sara from americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install of the Barricade Rattler Running Boards in textured black, fitting your '07 through '13 Chevy Silverado 1500s. This is perfect for the Silverado owner who's looking for a wide and flat step with a rugged appearance that's not gonna break the bank. With a six and a half-inch wide stepping surface, which is one of the widest options available and the stamped steel design it's gonna provide a secure step into your truck in all weather. This step is constructed from 14 gauge stamped steel and features a nice textured black powder coat finish.Coming in at around $200 this option is on the lower end price-wise. It provides a wide and flat style step while saving you some money over more expensive options. I'm gonna give this install one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, it bolts directly up to your truck and can be done in approximately two hours. So with that said, let's jump right into our install. For this install, we used a 10-millimeter ratcheting wrench, a 3/8-drive ratchet or impact gun, a 10-millimeter socket, a 13-millimeter socket, and a small extension. All right, so the first step in installation is to bolt up the brackets underneath your truck. Now all of these brackets are identical except the passenger side front, so grab one of these brackets and let's get it bolted up. Line the bracket up to the threaded hole on the pinch weld, this one should be all the way towards the front. This is the only one with this threaded hole. And there should also be a threaded hole a little bit higher into the body in the same location. Grab a 13-millimeter socket and tighten this down. Grab a 13-millimeter socket and you may want an extension here and tighten down the lower one.Now the second mounting point has a threaded hole upon the body and a hole down here on the pinch weld, you're gonna grab a clip nut and slide it over the hole on the pinch weld. Line up your bracket and thread in your hardware. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Now we're moving all the way to the back mounting point, we're gonna skip the middle one. And you're gonna need two clip nuts for this, one on the pinch weld and then another one through this larger hole to the smaller one. There's a plug there, you can remove that. Then you just want to hold it up so it lines up to here. Grab your hardware and get it threaded in. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Grab an extension and tighten down the bottom as well. At this point, we can grab the step and set it on top of the brackets. And then just double-check that it lines up nicely with the truck. With the step set on top of the brackets, you can grab the bolt plate and just line it up and then lift it into place. Make sure it's lined up with your truck. And using a washer, lock washer, and nut, install the hardware. Repeat that process with the other two brackets. So for some reason, you can't get this bolt plate to clear. You can loosen the bolts on the bracket just to make it a little bit easier on yourself because some of them are harder than others. Again, we just loosen this bracket up a little bit just to make it easier to get the bolt plate underneath. And there is quite a bit of adjustability back and forth with these, so you want to just double-check that your step is sitting in the proper spot before you tighten everything down. Once you're sure of the alignment of your step, grab a 10-millimeter socket and tighten this down. You may need a wrench for this back one because it's a little bit more blocked by this part of the bracket than the front. Repeat that with the other two brackets. All right, so that is gonna do it for the review and install of our running boards. Remember for all things Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
