Hey, guys. So, today, we're checking out the 5-inch iStep Running Boards in black fitting all 2007 to 2018 double cab and extended cab Silverado 1500s. So, if you're looking for a sleek and a stylish step that's going to fill up that wheel-to-wheel space and help you get in and out of your truck a little bit easier, this option is going to be a great choice to take a look into. So, this running board or this step is going to have a large 5-inch stepping surface, giving you as well as your passengers a ton of real estate underneath your foot for easy cab access and getting in and out of the truck a little bit easier, especially if your truck is lifted. Now, this is also going to have a ribbed rubberized surface up at the top that's going to span the entire running board, giving you some extra traction on those wetter days. With that being said, these are also going to be very durable, made of a 6061 aircraft aluminum so they will be able to hold their own as well as protect the side body of your truck from any door dings in the parking lot, or even any debris kicking up, whether you're on the street or even any fire trails. And what I really like about these is the styling of the actual step itself. The running board style is going to look very sleek, especially with the slim design, but that fine-textured black powder coat finish is going to look great as well while protecting that aluminum underneath. Now, with all that being said, these are gonna be very affordable for a running board or a side step coming in at roughly $250. Now, in comparison to some other options, some other choices are just going to be designed a little bit differently. They may have a stainless steel finish instead of a sleek black finish like this one does, or they may have a smaller step with individual stepping pads. Now, I personally think that this is going to add a lot of style to the side of the truck, especially if you have any other black accessories that you're looking to match with, and it's gonna have a lot of functionality at the same time. Again, making this a great choice if you're looking for something sleek, functional, and stylish. So, as far as install goes, I'm going to give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. These are going to be incredibly easy to install. I would just give yourself about an hour to get these installed with some very basic hand tools. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were a ratchet, a 13 and 10-millimeter socket, and a flat-head screwdriver. So, to kick off this install, I'm going to start on the passenger side. I've laid out the brackets as well as the hardware to make it a little bit easier for when we head underneath the truck. And I also have a 13-millimeter socket and a flat-head screwdriver ready, so now, we can go ahead and install the brackets. So, we're going to start in the front and you're going to be supplied with retainer clips. For the front passenger side mount, we'll only need to use one up at the body. So, I'm just going to slide this over that hole, line it up with the smaller hole that's in the body. And then we can take our smaller passenger side front bracket and line that up with the retainer clip. Now, when that's there, I'm gonna take a hex head bolt with a lock washer and a flat washer, and just snug that up so the bracket stays in place while we grab our main bracket. And we don't necessarily need to tighten it all the way down just yet, but we do want to hold it in place. So, next, we can grab our main bracket, there's gonna be a tab on the bottom and a tab on the side. The tab on the bottom is gonna go underneath the pinch weld and align with this hole here. And the tab on the side is going to align it with our bracket and our welded nut on that bracket. I'm going to take the same hex head bolt flat washer and lock washer and thread that in to our secondary bracket. Now that's gonna hold that in place while we attach our tab bolt. That's going to go through that bottom pinch weld, and we're supplied with a washer and a nylon lock nut so they're gonna attach at the bottom. Now, once all of our hardware is in place, what we can do is take that 13-millimeter socket and tighten everything up.Now, for the passenger side middle and rear bracket, it's going to be the same. We're going to take two retainer clips, one's going to go on the body, just like the front, and then one's going to go on the pinch weld. Now, those are gonna clip into place. However, if this one's being a little stubborn up top, what you can do is take a flat-head. You just want to make sure that the threads on the other side are exposed. Then we can take our bracket, line that up with the body and start to thread in our hardware. Now, this is going to be the same hardware that we used up front, it's gonna be the hex bolt, the flat washer, and the lock washer. Once those are both threaded in, we can take that same 13-millimeter socket and tighten those up.Then we can repeat that same process for the rear bracket. All right. So, once our brackets are installed, what we can do is install our running board. So, now we're ready to prep our running board to be attached to our brackets. We're gonna be supplied with the square head bolts and we're going to slide them into the channel that's on the bottom of our running board. You're going to have three in each channel, and then once we're ready to mount it up, we can align them with the brackets and secure them down. Now, I do kind of like to line up the step and put them in the general location of the bracket. But they are very easily adjustable. We can flip the running board over and lay it on top of the brackets. Line up our bolts. So, once all the bolts are in place, what we can do is just align the step where we want it, and then we can head underneath and secure them down. So, now, we can take our flat washer and our nylon lock nut and secure that bolt down. What we can do now is take a 10-millimeter socket and tighten those up. All right. Now we can repeat that process for the other two brackets. So, after everything's tightened down, you can repeat that process on the other side. That's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
