Hey, guys. It's Sarah with americantrucks.com. And today we have a review and install the 4-inch iStep Running Boards in Black, fitting your '07 to '18 Chevy Silverado 1500 Double and Extended Cab. These running boards are perfect for the truck owner who wants to add a step to their truck and is looking for a running board style option with a ton of stepping surface that's gonna save the money over more expensive running wards. These running boards offer safe and easy access to the cab of your truck, especially if it's lifted or leveled like ours. The stepping surface runs the length of the cab and is four inches wide. These full-length running boards are constructed from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum and feature a matte black finish. So as far as price goes, these come in at around $250, putting them on the lower end, price-wise when compared to other options. And for your money, you're getting a sleek black running board with a ton of stepping surface. I'm giving this install a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. They feature a direct bolt-up install that can be done within two hours. So with that said, let's jump into our install. For this install, you will need an electric or standard ratchet, 10, and 13-millimeter sockets, any 5-millimeter Allen key. All right. So we're gonna assemble our brackets. Now, all of these brackets require assembly aside from the passenger front. That one is both of these joined together already. But for the other ones, you will have to bolt these together. Start with your bracket in this position. The secondary bracket that bolts to the truck just goes right on the front here. And I'll flip it around so you guys can see what I'm doing with the bolts. One of the Allen head bolts goes in the top. There's a flange nut for the backside. And go ahead and repeat that for the bottom opening. All right. Grab a 5-millimeter Allen key and a 13-millimeter socket and tighten these down. Repeat that for the remainder of your brackets. Grab your 5-millimeter Allen key and 13-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right. So we are now underneath the truck on the passenger side, and we're starting with the passenger front-most bracket. This one is the one that is slightly different than the rest. We're gonna begin by installing our clip nuts. These will go in the large opening underneath your truck. If this is not visible, you may have to pull a rubber plug. Slide it in there and then line it up to the smaller hole that's just in front of it. And you're also gonna slide a clip nut onto the pinch weld. There should be an opening right there, and you're gonna do it with this piece facing down. You can grab your passenger front bracket. It will be the one that's different. It's also labeled. And that's gonna be a little bit hard to see, but we're installing the hardware into those two mounting points that we just installed. Make sure you're using a washer, lock washer, and a bolt, a hex head bolt that's included in the kit. We're gonna use two of these, one in the top and one in the bottom here. Now with a 13-millimeter socket and a ratchet, you can tighten those down.Moving on to our second mounting location, this one also has a large opening and then a smaller one where our bolt will go. Grab your clip nut, slide it into place. Now repeat that with the hole on the pinch weld, grab your clip nut and slide it in place. Make sure it's facing down. Our bracket will rest on top. All right. Grab one of the brackets that you previously installed together. Line it up on the truck. Grab one of your hex bolts with a washer and lock washer and thread it into the clip nut. Repeat that with the bottom part of the pinch weld. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten them down. Moving on to our rearmost mounting point, we're gonna look for the large and small opening. That's where our top clip nut will go. Go ahead and install it and get it lined up. And we can go ahead and install the one on the pinch weld. Make sure it's facing down and that it's lined up with the hole. All right. Now line up your bracket with the two clip nuts and install your hardware. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right. So now we have the brackets installed, we can install our running board. Flip your running board over to the other side. You'll see two channels. You wanna install three of these square bolts in each channel. Just put them in the opening at the top and slide them down. Sort of slide your pair of bolts in the general region of where your brackets line up and then flip your step over and try to line up your bolts with the bracket as best you can.Now you can slide the board forwards and backwards to get it exactly where you like it. If for some reason one of your bolts is not in the right place, just lift up your step and you can slide them where they need to go. Make sure they're in this bracket here. Grab one of the washers as well as one of the lock nuts and get it installed on the square bolt that you've already put into the step. You can then repeat that for the other bolts. Make sure your step is sitting exactly where you'd like it. Grab a 10-millimeter socket and ratchet and tighten them down. Repeat that for the other two mounting points. Grab your 10-mil socket and tighten them down. All right. So that is gonna do it for the review and install these Running Boards. And remember, for all things, Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
