How to Install AFE Silver Bullet Throttle Body Spacer (97-03 4.6L, 5.4L) on your Ford F-150

1. Loosen and remove the engine sight cover if equipped. Disconnect the air inlet tube from throttle body. Loosen and remove the throttle cable bracket from the intake manifold.  

2. Install the cable bracket extender brackets onto intake using the 6mm countersunk bolts.  

3. Reattach the factory throttle cable bracket to the extender brackets using the two original bracket bolts that attach to the threaded holes.  

4. Loosen and remove the four bolts that secure the throttle body to the intake manifold and remove the old gasket. Also if equipped, remove the plastic spacer that may be installed.  

5. Install a gasket, the aFe Silver Bullet throttle body spacer (AIR IN engraving side faces the throttle body), and another gasket and throttle body onto intake manifold. Using the washers and longer bolts secure the throttle body to intake manifold. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb/in). (Note: 97-03 4.6L uses 50mm long bolts, 97-03 5.4L uses 60mm bolts, 04-07 aluminum 4.6L intake manifold use 60mm bolts and 06-08 4.6L with composite intake manifold use the 80mm bolts)  

6. Reattach the air inlet tube and engine sight cover if equipped.
