So Truxedo's Edge Soft Roll-Up Cover is gonna be one of the most affordable and one of the easiest to use soft tonneau covers that are available for the '14 to '18 Silverado. Now, I like this cover in particular because it uses a hook and loop fastener system. Other covers that are around this price point and ones that you might have been looking at that are a little bit more affordable generally use a folding frame system. Now, those folding frame systems can be a little bit heavier, they can be a little bit more cumbersome, and they are a little bit more time-consuming. I like this one because it has a simple one-touch release and once you release it, you can roll the cover up or down as much as you like in no time at all. The other reason why I really like this cover is because even though it is quite affordable, it is still really well built.Truxedo is one of the leading names in the category and that is certainly the case here in terms of quality. This thing uses a double grade marine vinyl for the softcover itself and all the hardware securing the cover to the truck is made out of aluminum so you don't ever have to worry about this thing rusting out or corroding underneath. Other than that, it also installs quite easily, you literally only need two sockets and a hand ratchet. So if you like the way this cover looks and you like the price point, you should stick around. I'm gonna show you the install step by step. It gets a very simple one out of three wrenches on my patented difficulty meter. It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to get this installed. So without further ado, let's go ahead and get started. To install your tonneau cover, you'll need the following tools, a drive ratchet, a half-inch socket, a 9/16 deep socket. Optional tools include a cordless impact. So the first step of this install is getting the side rails installed with the hook and loop fasteners as you can see here. To secure these to the side of your bed rails, you're gonna need to grab three of the smaller clamps in the kit and to tighten these down, you're gonna need a half-inch socket. So once you have your passenger side rail installed, you're gonna do the same thing to the driver side. To do that, it's gonna be the same exact steps, gonna need three of these clamps. Again, you want to make sure you space them out evenly. You're gonna need a half-inch socket to tighten these down.So now that you have both rails installed and flush with the bed, it's time to anchor our soft cover. To do that, you're gonna put these two studs on the far end of the soft cover up near the cab inside the holes on the rails. Once you got it lined up and both studs in place, you're gonna tighten them down and secure them. To do that, you're gonna grab one of the nylon locking nuts in the kit with one of these spacers. Now, to tighten these, you're gonna need a 9/16 deep socket. So once you got those two nylon nuts and spacers in place, you can then unroll your tonneau cover and I'll show you how to secure it at the ends of the bed in a moment. Before I do that I wanted to point out that you can manually adjust the tightness of this as it gets hotter and colder outside. If your tonneau cover gets too loose, depending on temperature, all you gotta do is turn this little manual adjustment screws in order to push the header closer to the cab. That will put extra tension on the tonneau cover itself. Just keep in mind before you do that, you will have to loosen the nylon nuts that we tightened just a moment ago.So once you roll your tonneau cover out, you want to make sure that it secures to the brackets on both ends of your rails before you press down on the hook and loop fasteners. Securing this to the brackets is pretty straightforward. You see this little metal bead right here? It's gonna rest right inside. Once you got the bead lined up inside both brackets, just press down. You'll hear a loud click and you're all set. Then you can put your tailgate up. When you want to release the tonneau cover to roll it back up, all you gotta do is pull on this little lever right here.So once you got your tailgate closed, that will actually wrap up the install. Keep in mind that if you installed this on the cold or overcast day, your cover will get a little loose as things warm up and the sun comes out so you might have to make some minor adjustments using the fasteners up near the cab like I showed you earlier. Other than that, that also wraps up my review of Truxedo's Edge Soft Roll-Up Cover fitting your '14 to '18 Silverado. I'm Travis, thanks for watching.
