Review & Install Video
Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of the TracRac TracONE truck rack with the clamp-on install available for all 1997 and newer F-150s. In this video, I'll be going over the functionality and expectations of the TracRac TracONE truck rack and, of course, the materials and construction and what makes it so useful. I'll top everything off with the installation, which I'll tell you upfront would be a very simple clamp-on installation, hence the title, which will get a solid one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. So let's jump right into it.
So the TracRac TracONE truck rack in black with the clamp-on install will be for all 1997 and newer F-150 owners out there who constantly find themselves hauling a lot of heavy and large cargo and want a more efficient and convenient way to keep everything safe and secure in the bed of their truck. When using your F-150 for a lot of work-related commutes or even some extreme off-roading, you probably find yourself hauling a lot of heavy or usually large cargo in the bed of your truck that may be awkwardly or unsafely strapped down, not allowing you to haul everything that you may need. This truck rack or ladder rack can easily and safely secure everything you need to, everything from ladders all the way to lumber and more, making sure it's all tucked away in your bed nice and neat.
So this option I have with me today uses aerodynamic designs with elliptical crossbars that prevent drag and, of course, uses airfoil strips that prevent whistling when the air is passing through it as well. This also uses a very simple installation. And like the title says, it will be a clamp-on install, which I'll go into further in just a bit. But I do wanna point out, it will be a very simple install for anybody to take care of.
Now, as far as the materials and construction goes here, this was manufactured right here in the USA from TracRac out of a 6000 series aluminum construction, which, of course, is very strong and durable, very long-lasting, can take whatever beating is thrown at it, which is definitely necessary when hauling that big stuff. This one also offers crossbars that adjust and can accept a lot of different accessories, like tie-downs, load stops, and other options. This also offers an 800-pound weight capacity, which is a lot more than a lot of the roof racks on the market do, and, of course, offers those loop style tie downs included in the kit for you. There's four of them for your convenience and safety and security and, of course, can slide and adjust to your preference.
If this is something you think you can benefit from for your worksite or off-roading adventures with your F-150, you might wanna check it out. You can pick it up for just north of $400, which, in my opinion, is definitely well worth it if you've got a lot of large and heavy items that you're hauling constantly. And this will definitely make for some convenient and safe hauling.
Shifting gears over to the installation portion of the video, like I said a bunch of times in this video, this one is gonna be a clamp-on install, very simple enough for any novice to take care of. It might be easier to have a helping hand on deck just to help you get everything in place while you work the ratchet. Now, speaking of ratchet, you'll need a ratchet and a simple socket set as well as an Allen wrench to get this job done. The Allen wrench will give you the adjustability options. You may not need it, but it's also safe to have it on hand. Again, maybe an hour or so on the install, and I would give this a one out of the three wrenches on the difficulty meter.
Now, as you can see on the table with me today, not everything fits here with me, but everything will be included in your kit for proper use. And follow the instruction manual to put everything together into the truck rack properly. Put it all up on your bed rails using that helping hand, of course. And use the clamp provided in the kit to tighten everything down. Two clamps will go on to each corner of the truck rack, tightening down by your ratchet and socket set, and, of course, repeat that process for each one of the clamps provided. Over all, an hour or two on the installation and a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter.
Well, guys, just to wrap things up here, if you're the owner of a 1997 or newer F-150 and you're looking for a way to conveniently and safely secure all the heavy and large cargo, like ladders and lumber and more, you might wanna check out the TracRac TracONE truck rack in black that I have with me today, which, of course, is available right here at americanmuscle.com.
Haul It All.
Your F-150 was made to haul stuff, and this TracOne Truck Rack helps you do it even better. A special design means no drilling and quick installation, so you can bring along skis, kayaks, ladders or other long, odd-shaped items. Cinching loops secure your stuff so it does not go flying out of the bed, and you still have space to place other, heavier items down in the actual payload.
Since the Truck Rack is made entirely of high-quality aluminum, rust and other forms of corrosion are not a problem, plus they can withstand some good hits. This also makes the racks lightweight, so installing and removing them is easy. The black finish is designed to resist scratching. The loops are made of a high-quality composite.
You can transport up to 800 pounds with this Truck Rack, making it practical for all kinds of activities. A single axis clamp system means you can install the Truck Rack without drilling into your vehicle.
The TacOne Truck Rack is designed to fit all 1997-2018 Ford F-150 models.
