    The Timbren rear suspension enhancement is available for any 2015 or newer F-150 owner who's looking to do just that, enhance their rear end suspension. This kit adds what are essentially high-quality airbags above your rear axles on both sides to improve your ride quality when under load, when you're hauling heavy cargo on your bed or towing a trailer, or really anything that adds extra weight. It's an extremely affordable way to keep your truck leveled under load and keep your suspension feeling soft and like it doesn't have any added any weight to it. The installation for the system is actually quite simple. You can get it done in about an hour or so, which is why I am giving it one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, which I will walk you through later on. The suspension enhancement, or SES for short, comes with Aeon rubber springs, or airbags, really, that attach directly above the axle using the provided mounting hardware you see here. Now, these are going to feel exactly the same, if not better than a set of airlift suspension that could cost you upwards of 1,000 bucks or more. With this installed, you'll have a perfectly stock ride quality when you're not towing or hauling anything because the bags won't be engaged. Once you throw on the added weight in your bed, like a sofa or furniture if you're helping a friend move, or if you're towing a trailer hooked onto the back, the suspension would normally sag down, becoming unleveled, squat and sway under the added weight. With this, your axle will engage the springs or bags here from the Timberen kit and keep your truck leveled and absorb all the added weight to keep a smooth ride quality, and soft at that, while preventing unwanted oscillation. These should be on the build list of anyone who is pulling added weight more often than not. If your truck is used for a lot of work related stuff or you move a lot with weight and materials, if you're going on vacation with your ATV or sports gear in the bed, literally anything that would cause your rear end to sag down, this is an extremely inexpensive way to have just a more enjoyable ride without the extra sagging. This kit is just about 200 bucks for everything you see here in one little convenient kit from Timberen, which like I said earlier, is about $1,000 less than a complete airlift system. Now, of course, airlift suspension systems do have other benefits as well, being adjustable for ride heights and what not. But this kit is a must for people who know how to tow and do that often. Now your handling improvements alone are enough to make this kit worth it. The swing is reduced and your control is increased simply off the added suspension release and stress relief from your suspension that these bags offer. The installation process is very easy, something anyone could tackle in about an hour in the driveway at home. In fact, I have seen reviews from guys saying they got the job done in less time than it took for them to finish two beers. That's got to show how simple it is, so I'm giving it one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. Now, you need a jack and jack stands, a ratchet and socket set, and all the hardware from the kit and you are good to go. Start by getting the rear end of the truck in the air so the rear axle hangs freely. You'll remove the stock bump stops or stops using a 13-millimeter socket or wrench. Assemble the mounting bracket and the bags in the order illustrated in your manual. It should be the bracket going onto the frame, then the spacer, then the bag, and the bolt connecting the assembly to the end. The bottom supporting plate will clamp to the axle underneath the bags using the fasteners in the kit. Repeat this for the opposite side and you could drop the truck back down again. Make sure there is about a half inch to about an inch and a half of room between the bag and the plate installed on the axle. If there isn't sufficient room, there are more washers than bolts in order to gain the proper clearance. Brake lines and cables shouldn't interfere with the assembly either, so keep that in mind.     Improved Hauling Capability. Simpler than air bags and just as strong, a Timbren Rear Axle Suspension Enhancement System (SES) is an easy way to eliminate any suspension sag and squatting on 2015-2019 Ford F-150s. When unloaded, the SES sits off the axle and does affect ride quality. Once the F-150 is loaded with a trailer or something in the bed, the SES activates and engages with the rear axle, pushing up and leveling the truck. The SES also reduces trailer sway and body roll, making it not only ideal for those hauling heavy loads in the bed, but for F-150s that do a lot of towing as well.

    Rugged Aeon Rubber. All Timbren SES kits use a special hollow spring made of Areon rubber. Engineered with a variable spring rate, the Arean springs progressively increase their resistance to compression as more weight is put on them and are self-dampening to eliminate annoying oscillations. The Areon springs are also maintenance free - once installed they can be forgotten about as there are no air bags to refill or air lines to leak. Backed by a lifetime warranty, Timbren's motto is "stronger than steel, more reliable than air".

    Do-It-Yourself Installation. Upgrading the rear axle of your F-150 with a Timbren Suspension Enhancement Kit is easily done at home using traditional hand tools. Designed to be a drop-in process, the job can be completed in an hour with no modification necessary.

    • Yes, the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System can be used in conjunction with a leveling kit since this system is installed exclusively on the rear suspension.

    Will this kit work after I put a Supreme Suspension 2 1/2 in front and 3 in rear lift kit on my truck? Obviously the bump stop that's factory installed will be quite a bit higher after putting the 3-inch block on the rear is there another bump stop that I could replace the factory one to accommodate for the 3-inch block?

    • The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System is designed to work with vehicles at stock ride height, and would have no effect on vehicles that are lifted. At this time we do not offer any stand alone bump stop replacements.

    Although the Roush/Fox 2.0 kit adds an inch in the back, this would still have an effect under heavy enough load, correct? Although there would be a bigger gap between axle and airbag, it would not be completely useless. Or am I missing something?

    • The Timbren Rear Axle SES Suspension Enhancement System is designed to work at stock ride height, with an additional inch of lift, this would not work until the suspension has sagged at least 1" from weight. While this would provide some benefit, it would be minimal compared to a vehicle using this at stock ride height

    • Yes the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System will fit your 20117 F150. Unless it is a Raptor.

      Great rear suspension enhancement!

      This item was super easy to install. My truck is leveled in the front so I decided to install without the spacer to have 1 1/2" of travel. With the spacer I only had 1/2" of travel and could feel the spring hitting the plate thus "bouncing" the back end while daily driving. I hooked up my 16' dual axle trailer and loaded the side by side up and went for a spin. 1st of all, no more back end squat! Secondly it really improved the handling by not putting as much stress on the rear suspension. I am very pleased so far and am looking forward to the 5 hour road trip this week pulling the trailer. The components all went together easily and seem to be heavy duty. If you are on the fence about this product, do it! You will be glad you did!

      Does not fit 2017 2wd

      Do not buy this if you have a 2wd. I believe it is only made for 4wd. I purchased and installed and it did not even come close to fitting. I had to call the company and the said to only use the top bracket and spring. None of the other parts will fit. I have it currently installed and pull a trailer 5 days a week. It rides extremely rough for whats there. I am considering taking it off or raising the rear end to accommodate more space to make it work better. It rides like a low rider truck. If you have a 2wd dont buy it!!! I would return it but since it is half installed I cannot return it.

      Easy install

      Great product but with 33's on stock 20's with a 2.5" leveling kit, the springs were touching creating a very rough ride. I had to have the Aeon springs swapped for shorter ones. I went directly to the manufacturer and Timbren warrantied these with no questions asked. Now it's perfect and ready to tow!

      Very satisfied

      Very happy with the product and the way it works. Was easy to install just wish I was told that I didn’t need all of the brackets due to already having a lift on my truck so all of the other brackets were not necessary for my truck.

      Just what my truck needed.

      I can now pull 15,000lbs without worry. I was very close to buying a airbag system before coming across this. I like the fact there is no compressor to keep running. No switches, gauges, or dials. I was worried that the ride would really suck while driving off road while empty, but I can't tell that it changed much even when you hit something had enough that you know the axle hit the timbren springs. After having the airbags on my last truck and this on my new one, I would choose this system again on my next truck.

      Got what I paid for.

      I'm pretty happy with this buy. Simple to install did it in 30 minutes. With my toy hauler or boat on the truck it handles the load great and feels good. It defiantly keeps my ride hight where I want it, mostly after installing a leveling kit on the front. Still get some flashing the high beems at me but what can you do. This was a great Alternative to spending the $1000 on the real air ride system. Only complaint I would have is when I don't have a load on the truck and going over dips or speed bumps the suspension hits the bags sometimes.

      I have 2 trailers both are about 7,000 pounds. My truck was sagging before I installed the helpers.
