Description

This hood features true to form ZL1 styling, including the raised center section and ram air vents. This design gives your truck a definite sporty look that’s sure to turn heads. Moreover, its all-fiberglass construction makes this hood lighter than the factory counterpart, saving you weight and helping improve performance.
Built-In Functional Ram Air Tunnel. This ram air hood’s aforementioned ram air vents are not just for style but work as air tunnels supplying your air system with cold air. This feature, when combined with its lighter weight, enables you to maximize the performance potential of your air system or cold air intake. Additionally, the ram air tunnels feature aluminum wire mesh grilles for added style that also works as a barrier, preventing debris from entering your engine bay.
Robust Build Quality. This ZL1 hood is made from high-grade fiberglass and specially formulated resin, offering superior strength without the added weight. This fiberglass material is then hand-laid by artisans into precise molds to give you a fit that’s as close to the factory as possible. Once formed, this hood is then expertly finished and coated in a white gel primer that will work with any type of automotive paint.
Straightforward Install Procedure. Installing this ZL1 hood is a fairly straightforward procedure as this component is designed and built to OE specifications. Please note that fiberglass is typically thicker than the sheet metal used on the factory hood and may require minor grinding to achieve a proper fit. Also since this hood is essentially a hand-made product, some slight cosmetic imperfections may be present. Finally, it is suggested that you paint this hood before installation as this will ensure a more efficient procedure.
