Merideth: If you're in search of an upgrade for the front end while keeping a classic appearance to your 2014 to 2015 Silverado 1500, these Projector Headlights with the Chrome Housing and the Smoked Lens will be a great solution. Now, new headlights are a great way to bring life back to the front end, whether your truck's current set has faded or it's just not cutting it anymore when it comes to lighting performance. Now, these will be a great solution to freshen up the look and increase the light output while being perfect for the Silverado owner who wants a headlight that's going to match seamlessly with the rest of the chrome on the front end when it comes to style.Taking a closer look like it says in the name, this will have a chrome housing and a smoked lens which adds a very clean and uniform look to the front end and the lens adds more of a stealthy appearance to the light even though it is a pretty light smoke. Now, speaking of the lighting, the driving beam will also see an upgrade keeping the halogen bulb but upgrading to a projector lens which will optimize that beam pattern making it more concise allowing you to see better at night. Now, the high beam will carry over that factory style reflector with a little bit of an upgrade there and the corner lights will also keep that amber bulb and reflector for a classic appearance but yet offering that upgrade for some better lighting performance as well. This set will have an ABS plastic housing and a tough polycarbonate lens on the front that will do very well when it comes to any kick-up on the street and overall longevity when they're mounted up to your truck. And the set will also include bolts so you don't have to worry about swapping anything over or question when it comes to install considering that this is going to be the full package. And the best part of all is that this kit is going to be completely plug and play with a factory-style plug on the back so you don't have to worry about any wiring when it comes to getting these on your truck. Now, these will be affordable for a set of headlights at about $325. Now comparing them to other choices available, I think that this is a great deal considering that it's the full package. So again, it's not gonna leave you questioning when it comes to putting these on your truck and you get a lighting performance upgrade rather than just the housing. Not to mention, you're getting both the classic uniform appearance while adding a little bit of smoked into the mix, which I think is a great combo if you're looking for a subtle way to add both while also not breaking the bank. Now, install is going to be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Again, it's gonna be seamless, taking you about an hour to get the job done with no wiring at all. At this point, we can head over to our shop and show you a detailed breakdown step by step on one of our Silverados so you can get these onto yours at home. So that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man 1: Tools required for this install include a ratchet, a clip remover tool, Phillips head screwdriver, 10-millimeter ratcheting wrench, an extension, 10-millimeter socket, and some microfiber towels. What's up, guys? Today, we're installing a set of headlights on our Silverado. First, we're gonna watch a quick uninstall video showing you how to remove your factory headlights and I'll meet you right back here for the install.Man 2: All right. First step here, we have to uninstall our factory headlights. To do that, pop your hood, we're gonna remove the radiator shroud. Now, there's a bunch of these plastic black pushpin clips here. What you're gonna do is take a panel removal tool, I'm gonna start with this guy here, you're just gonna pry up on the middle section. Once that's up, you don't necessarily need to take it off in two pieces, but once that's up, you can pull it off altogether just like that. Do that for each one along the entire shroud. Now that all those clips are off, let's just lift up on the shroud and set it aside. Next up, we have to head over to the wheel well to remove this one Phillips head screw. Now, the reason we're doing that is because this entire trim piece that goes along all underneath the headlights and grille has to come off. So, grab a Phillips head. We're just gonna take this one screw off in each wheel well. So, once you have one taken care of, repeat on the other side. Once that's off, start cracking that guy loose. All right. Next up here, just pull that trim piece all the way off and set it aside. All right. Next up, let's get our grille out of the way. Now, there's four 10-millimeter bolts at the top, so I'm switching over to an impact gun and a deep socket, so let's get those off. All right, now on the bottom left and bottom right corners, you're gonna find another 10-millimeter. For the grille, I'm switching over to an extension on my 10-millimeter. All right, same thing on the other side. So now we can just pull the grille off in one piece. All right, next step, let's unbolt our headlight. Now I'm working on our passenger side here. There's two 10-millimeter bolts up top we're gonna start with. All right, next up behind where our grille was here, there's one more bolt at the bottom down there. All right. We have one more down here in the corner, right behind where the trim was underneath the headlight. I'm gonna use a 10-millimeter ratcheting wrench for this guy just because it's at a tough angle. All right. So now, we can just pull that straight back. And you just pinch and disconnect the harness, just like that. Set your factory light aside.Man 1: Now, before we install our new set of headlights onto the truck, we're gonna have to swap over our turn signal bulbs as well as our high beam from our factory headlights. Now, we're not gonna be swapping over our headlight bulb as our new one does come with one. So, from our factory headlight, we can turn to the left on our bulb socket and wiggle out our bulb. Bring that over to our new one. Press that in and then turn to the right to lock it into place. And now we're going to be doing the bottom one here. We'll lift up on this tab for our high beam bulb. Plug it into our new connector. Now we can grab our cover and twist that to the right to lock that into place. And then we'll repeat that same process for our other headlight and get these on the truck. So now we're ready to install our new headlight. We're gonna plug in the one electrical connector on the back of our headlight, slide it into place, and reinstall those four bolts. So now we'll just plug in that connector and slide our headlight into place. Next we can reinstall our two bolts up top. And we'll take our 10-millimeter socket and tighten these down. Now we can come to the lower inside of our headlight and tighten down that bolt. Next, we can come to the outside corner and thread in our last bolt. I use a 10-millimeter ratcheting wrench to tighten this down. Now next we can reinstall our grille. Next we can reinstall the four bolts at the top of our grille and we'll take our 10-millimeter socket and tighten that down. Next, we can reinstall our four lower grille bolts. This is gonna be pretty much impossible to see on camera, but everywhere that we have this little rectangular cutout, there's a U-clip for a bolt back behind. I'm using a 10-millimeter socket and an extension to get my bolts started, and then we'll throw the ratchet on the other end to tighten them down.Next, we can line up all of our clips and reinstall our lower trim. Next, we can come to our wheel well and take a Phillips head screwdriver to reinstall our screw. And then we'll do that same thing on the other side. Next we can reinstall our upper radiator cover. We have these two clips that are gonna go into the two slots right in our grille. And now lastly, we can go back and reinstall all of our push clips. So that'll wrap up this review and install of the Projector Headlights with Chrome Housing and Clear Lens for your 2014 to 2015 Silverado 1500. Thank you for watching and for all things Silverado, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
