Merideth: If you wanna upgrade to a more modern tail light but keep that factory-style element on your 2019 or newer Silverado RAM 1500 with the factory halogen tail lights, these Light Bar LED Tail Lights with the Black Housing and the Red Smoked Lens will be a great way to do it. Now, this set of tail lights will add that OEM plus look if you are looking to keep that red lens for that OE appeal, and the bright red lighting, but you're looking to take it to the next level with the smoke on the lens for more of a stealthy look if you're a fan of that more aggressive styling. Now, the addition of the LEDs are also going to offer that modernized appearance while increasing your lighting performance to make you a lot more visible at night to other drivers for a bit of safety and also style if that's what you're looking to add to your build.Diving a little bit deeper into the light itself, as you can see, this is going to have that red smoked lens on the front, which will add that unique appearance compared to the standard smoked lens or the standard red lens. And the black housing on the inside is just going to add just more of that stealthiness to the tail light. Now, the star of the show here is going to be the fiber optic style LED running lights on the top and down at the bottom that are going to add, again, that modernized look while having a cluster of red LEDs on the inside for your brake light, again, making you a lot more noticeable to other drivers compared to your halogen bulb. Now, this will keep the reverse light right in the center here but it's going to have a projector-style lens which will increase your lighting performance when backing up for better visibility, especially at night. And, this will have that red reflector over on the side to keep up to OE standards. And these are gonna be tough with a plastic housing, which will have an OEM style fit and a durable lens on the front to withstand any kickup on the street, or if you're taking your Silverado off-road at all. Now, this will also be fully weather sealed so you won't have to worry about any dust or water getting inside the light, potentially fogging up the lens or harming the LEDs inside. Now, what's really great about the LEDs here is how efficient they are. So, they're gonna last a very long time with little to no maintenance at all compared to the factory setup where you would have to swap out halogen bulb every so often because of the burnout. Now, these are also going to be completely plug and play as you can see here. This is gonna have a factory-style harness which will take all the question out of the install maybe in a very easy way to completely transform the back of your truck. And, these will come in at a little bit more of a premium price point compared to some other options, but for good reason at roughly $400. Now, I think what I really like about this set of lights is that OEM plus look and the fact that you're getting some of those touches of OE styling without going over the top. And you're also getting that modern appearance at the same time of the LED light bars and overall LEDs in general. And not to mention the darker smoke to the lens will add that very sleek appeal and match with any other smoked accessories on the truck, making this all-around a great pick. Now, install's gonna be super simple at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and taking you no longer than an hour to get the job done. But, I wouldn't be surprised if you got it done a lot sooner. At this point, we can head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown on how to get these onto your Silverado at home right now.Man: For this install, you will need a ratchet, T15 Torx bit, and a pick or a flathead screwdriver. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be installing some new tail lights on our Silverado, but before we get started, we're gonna send you to watch a short video on how to remove your factory tail lights, and we'll see you when you get back. So, our first step is going to be to remove our two bolts holding our tail light in the housing. And to do that we're gonna use our T15 Torx bit and a ratchet. And once we have those out, we can go ahead and pull our tail light out. So, next, we can go ahead and unplug our bed light. And for this one, it's a little bit tricky because the release is so close to this cut-out here. So, if you wanna get a pick or something like that, and go ahead and press down on it, and you can go ahead and release your connector for that. And then we can go underneath the truck and disconnect our main harness. So, next, we can go ahead and disconnect our main harness, which is located underneath, behind our tailgate and bumper. So, we'll go ahead and monitor the truck and disconnect our main connector. So, now that we're underneath the truck, we've located our main connector for our harness here and we'll go ahead and release our red safety tab out that back. Then you go ahead and press down and release your connector and then we'll fish that back up through and remove our tail light. So now we can go ahead and fish our harness up through and remove our tail light. And once you have this completed on this side, you can go ahead and repeat this process for your other side. All right, so now we're ready to go in with our new tail light. So our first step is gonna be to grab our main harness and fish the connector and wiring down through so we can reconnect that on the underside of our main harness. And after we've got that in, you have your two LED blocks here. Go ahead and remove the adhesive back and cover. So we're gonna place our first LED block back and behind this cut-out here. This is a little bit of a tricky process. We'll get both of them back there and then we'll stick them up the way they go. Fish the other one back through. And then you can go ahead and just stick your blocks right in here at this recess and get 'em both stuck to the side of your bed there. And now we can go ahead and plug our new bed light connector in. We can go ahead and tuck the rest of our harness out of the way. So, after we have our bed light connector hooked up, we can go ahead and grab our LED blocks, remove the covers for the adhesive backing, and fish them through our lower cut-out here. We can go ahead and stick them back up in this recess. And we'll go ahead and tuck our harness in. And we can go ahead and line our tail light up. We can go ahead and set that into place. Now that we have our tail lights set in place, we can grab our two T15 Torx screws and tighten them down using our T15 Torx bit and our ratchet. And now that we're under the truck, we can go ahead and grab onto our new harness and plug it back into our main connector. You wanna make sure it clicks, it sets into place. Then go ahead and push your red safety tab in. And once you have this done, you can go ahead and repeat the same process for your other side. All righty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our light bar LED tail lights with black housing and red smoked lenses for your '19 to current Silverado RAM 1500 with factory halogen tail lights. Thanks for watching and as always, for everything Silverado, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
