Radiant Heat Protection. The Heat Sheath GOLD 2.25-Inch x 36-Inch provides superior protection against heat and abrasion failures for lines, hoses, and wires in demanding automotive environments. It is designed to reflect radiant heat up to 800°F—reflecting up to 90% of damaging radiant heat—helping to keep critical components cool and functioning reliably. Ideal for use in areas exposed to high temperatures where durability and heat resistance are paramount.
_x000D__x000D_Construction and Appearance. This sleeving is constructed from a high-temperature metalized polyimide lamination bonded to a sturdy 20-ounce heat-treated glass fiber base. It is reinforced with aramid thread to enhance heat resistance, abrasion durability, and flame retardance. The combination of materials creates a gold-colored, reflective finish that improves its ability to deflect radiant heat and resist mechanical damage.
_x000D__x000D_Installation. Installation is straightforward and user-friendly, requiring no special tools or drilling. Simply remove the line or hose, cut the Heat Sheath to the desired length, slide it over the component, and reattach it.
