      Description

However, greater tire diameter means an increased final drive ratio. That means upgraded tires can leave your truck feeling bog-slow. Compensate for that extra diameter with this ring-and-pinion set from Richmond Gear.

      Born to Run. Richmond makes these ring and pinion sets to stand up to the ultimate abuse of off-road driving. The steel is always first-run, not recycled. Heat treating ensures maximum strength and resilience. This is a premium steel product that meets or exceeds GM factory standards.

      Straightforward Installation. Installation requires mechanical experience and a full set of tools. Budget about two hours for the full procedure, then start enjoying restored performance from your truck. Richmond advises that this ring and pinion set requires cross pin model 80-0272-1, sold separately.

      Application. This 5.57 Richmond 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Set is for 2007 through 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500s.

      Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations.
