      Description

      Restore Performance. Tire and wheel upgrades can boost your Silverado's capability and style. They can also make your truck bog-slow off the line, and a real handful in the dirt. Put that spring back in your Silverado's step with a replacement ring and pinion from Richmond Gear. The 5.38 ratio of this set compensates for considerably increased tire diameter and taller final drive that comes with it.

      Off-Road Tough. Richmond specs out only new, first-run 8620-series steel. Unlike some competitors, they use no recycled materials in these ring and pinion sets. They're heat-treated for resilient strength under pressure. They meet or exceed all GM factory specs. Richmond is the ring and pinion set that puts racers in the winner's circle.

      Installation. Install requires mechanical experience and a full set of tools. Allow two hours for basic installation, including fluid replacement. Richmond advises that this ring and pinion set requires cross pin model 836-80-0272-1, sold separately.

      Application. This Richmond 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Set is for 2007 through 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500s.

      Technical Note. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations.
