Hey, guys. So, today, we're checking out the RedRock 4x4 Heated and Powered Towing Mirrors with the LED Turn Signal, fitting all 2015 to 2020 Ford F150s. So, if you find yourself towing a lot and you're looking for some better visibility or you plan on towing and your factory mirrors you think aren't going to cut it, then this option by RedRock 4x4 is gonna be a great choice to take a look into. Now, these are going to be a direct replacement to your factory mirrors and they are going to be significantly larger and reach out a lot farther, giving you a lot of visibility for whatever you're towing, the back end of your truck. Also, for turning and really everything that you would need when it comes to towing anything behind your F150. Now, this is gonna have a large top portion of the mirror that's just going to be that standard mirror that you would see on a factory mirror or really any other aftermarket mirror. And then down at the bottom, we also are gonna have a larger convex mirror that's going to give you a wider look at what you are towing behind you and the back end of your truck. Not only are you gonna have a larger mirror itself, but you also are going to get a lot more length with this mirror. Now, the factory mirror is about 14 inches from the base to the side of the mirror. And with this one, you are going to have 18 inches while it is collapsed like this. But this is also going to be telescoping. So, you can completely pull it out and it'll be at about 22 inches, again, give you a lot of visibility for the rear end of your truck. Not to mention, we're also going to have the LED turn signal over on the side, which is gonna be great if you're looking for that feature, it's going to give you a more modernized look to the front end of your mirrors, and also maybe a lot more noticeable while you're driving around on the street. Now, these also are gonna come with a number of different features. If your truck is equipped out of the factory, there's one thing that I would like to mention. All the features that your factory mirrors have is what is going to transfer over into this new set of towing mirrors. Now, this is not going to add any additional features. So, if you only have the powered and heated function and not the puddle light or the auxiliary light that the higher trim models have, that is not going to be swapped over. Only the functions that your factory mirror has are going to be integrated into this new mirror with the exception of the turn signal there. If you do not have turn signals right out of the factory, most of the wiring is included for that turn signal there, which is a plug-and-playoperation. Now, if you do have a higher trim package and you are looking to integrate some of those additional features, there are wire leads in order to wire those in. You may have to do a little bit of splicing and cutting in order to do so. However, most of those factory features that swap over are included in this package. Now, with that being said, with the features that this comes with, these are going to be pretty averagely priced at roughly $375.Now, this is going to be a big step up from some of the other mirrors in the category considering that these are going to accommodate a lot of features. Now, these are going to have the LED turn signal. Some other less expensive choices in the category may not include that turn signal, some other choices may be very similar to this. However, instead of the OEM style trim up top here, they may have a chrome cap, instead of that OEM look. Now, it comes down to personal preference, what you're looking for out of a towing mirror. Now, if you don't necessarily want all the bells and whistles, powered and heated mirrors, then you can save a couple of bucks there by getting the lesser expensive choice. However, if you have those features, you're looking to retain those features, and you're looking for something that's going to look sleek and functional while doing so, then this is going to be a great choice. Now, when it comes to install, these are going to be completely plug and play with the exception of the higher trim models if you are looking to wire in those additional features. I'm gonna give this a very easy one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Now, depending on the wiring, I would say about two hours to get the job done in your driveway with some very basic hand tools. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now.The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, a soft pry tool, and a 10-millimeter socket. So, the first part of this install we're gonna start with our door open. Now, we are gonna need a trim removal tool or a panel removal tool because we need to take off this cap here to expose the bolts for our mirror. So, what we can do first is just pry this off. I like to put the panel removal tool at the top. This is only held in by a couple of clips. So, once this pops out of place, that'll expose the wiring harness here. Now, that's gonna be our next step. We're just gonna get this out of the way by pressing down and pulling back. Put that over to the side, then we can take off the two 10-millimeter nuts. And there's also gonna be two 10-millimeter bolts over here on the side. These are gonna be a little bit more difficult to see, but we'll take a 10-millimeter socket and we'll remove those two nuts there. Now, just be mindful that the mirror is going to come off once that last bolt is removed. So, just have a hand on it. But there also is a small clip that's holding it in, so you may have to give it a good pull back. But once this is removed, now we're ready to install our new mirror. So, before we hop into our install, I do wanna step down and tell you guys a little bit more about these new towing mirrors, especially sitting on the table next to our factory one, show you some of the similarities and the differences, and why these are going to be a big upgrade for your F150.Now, starting off is just a brief overview of our factory mirror. This is going to be pretty standard across the board. We're gonna have the factory trim, factory plastics on the back giving it a very stock look. This is also going to come with the standard size mirror and a small convex mirror in the corner, giving you standard visibility should I say, and also a little bit more visibility with that convex mirror when it comes to seeing the back of your truck. And then this particular mirror is going to be a base model mirror, so this is not going to come up with the turn signal on the back or the puddle lights or auxiliary lights. Depending on your trim model, you may have that on your mirror. However, again, this is going to be a base model mirror. So, this is going to have some pretty basic functions. Overall, this is going to be great for stock applications. However, if you're looking for better visibility, that's where this is going to come into play. Now, moving over to this new tow mirror, this is going to give you a lot more when it comes to styling and function. The overall styling of a tow mirror is pretty cool, but the functionality is definitely worth it when taking a look at what this has to offer. Now, we are gonna have the factory plastic, so it is going to have a pretty factory look to it as far as the trim is concerned, but this is going to have a lot more. So, as you can see, the actual mirror part is a lot larger than our factory mirror which we'll see in a second. And we're gonna have a large convex mirror down at the bottom instead of the small one in the corner. So, that is going to help you out with rear visibility, seeing whatever you're towing, behind you, turning, and all of that, that you may be concerned about. Now, this is also going to have manual folding just like our factory one, but this is also gonna have manual telescoping. So, you can pull this out.Right now, this is sitting at about 18 inches, our factory one is at about 14 from the base of the mirror to the top of the mirror. So, this is going to be significantly larger. And once you pull that mirror out, it's going to fully extend to about 22 inches. So, you are getting a lot of visibility with this. Depending on what you're towing, you can set it to whatever setting that you'd like for the best visibility for you know. Now, what I do also like about these mirrors is that this is going to have an LED turn signal over on the cap of the mirror. And even though our factory base model mirror is not going to have that, this is still going to function thanks to the wiring harness that is included. Now, all of the features that your factory mirrors include are going to carry over to your new mirror here. Now, what I would like to mention is that this new mirror is not going to add any additional features, it's only gonna carry over the features that you have with your truck. The only feature or the only exception to that is going to be the LED light. All of the wiring harnesses for the mirrors are going to be pinned for that LED turn signal there. However, this is not going to add any additional puddle lights, auxiliary lights, or anything that may have the function of a higher trim model. Now, if you have that higher trim model, this will accommodate for that. Now, there are additional wires in the wiring harness here that you can wire that into if you have it. However, this is going to only take the stock functions of your mirror and pass it over to this new mirror and not add any additional function. So, because our mirrors are powered and we have pins for that in the wiring harness, that is gonna transfer over. Because it is heated, that's gonna transfer over. However, if these were not heated, that function would not transfer over to our new mirror. So, overall, you are going to be very functional. These are gonna carry over all the functionality and add some more to the truck. So, what do you say we go ahead and install our new mirrors? So, what we can do now is mount up our mirror. Now, what I would recommend is to have an extra hand just because the mirror is pretty heavy and you're gonna have to do a little bit of juggling to get this all lined up, the wiring harness through, and a nut on to the stud. However, I am a one-man show today. So, what I'm gonna do is just make sure that that wiring harness goes through. We're gonna line up the studs the best that we can. All right. Then we can take our provided hardware then we can spread that into place. Now, we're not going to tighten these down because we do have to get our factory 10-millimeter bolts in as well. But we can snug them up for the time being so our mirror doesn't move anywhere. I'm using that 10-millimeter socket that we used before. And then once that is in place, we can take our factory 10-millimeter bolts, thread those in and then we can go back and tighten everything down. So, once those are all threaded in, we can take a 10-millimeter socket and tighten those up either using an impact wrench or a standard ratchet. Just be careful if you're using an impact wrench. So, what we can do now is install our wiring harness here. There are going to be additional wires. Now, these are gonna be for features that may be included on the higher trim packages. So, these include the BLIS System or blind spot mirror or light. They also include the auxiliary light, clearance light, and puddle lights. So, if you have those, you will have to manually wire those in. However, all the other features that the mirrors provide like heating, power, and the turn signal are gonna be included in this main harness here. So, what I'm gonna do is install the female connector to the male connector on the eight-pin side. You wanna make sure that that clicks. Then we can install the 22-pin connector. Now, once those click, what we can do is tuck them to the side. You may wanna put some electrical tape around these if you are not using those. Just gonna tuck it up and then what we can do is add our cover back into place, give it a good push. Now, once this cap is back into place, then we can repeat that process on the other side, and we'll be all set to go.So that is going to wrap it up for my review and install.
