Hey, guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a quick overview and installation of the Recon 62-inch Big Rig LED Running Light Kit, available for all 1997 all the way up to 2014 F-150's. In this video, of course, I'll be going over the styling appearance and benefits of the running light kit you see here from Recon, as well as all the materials and construction. I'll top the video off with the installation, which I'll let you know up front here will get a get a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, because it does require some splicing, as you can see with the wiring, as well as minor drilling for the brackets. The Recon 62-inch Big Rig LED Running Light Kit in Amber, which we see here today, will be for any '97 to '14 F-150 owner, who might be looking for a way to spice up the sides of their truck, with a very unique appearance here with a long 62-inch LED bar in amber coloring. Which of course, will light up the way to your side steps, nerf bars, or running boards, letting people know that you are there whether it's a daily driver, a work site truck, or a massive off-roader. This is something to grab people's attention from each side and work in conjunction with your lights. Because this is gonna work in conjunction with your lights, you'll splice it right into your DRLs or daytime running lights, which will turn on as long as those DRLs are on. Now, it'll light up in an amber color and also work in conjunction with your turn signals or hazard lights. Something a lot of other options on the marker might not do. So, when you splice these on, throw your turn signal on, the appropriate side will blink, letting the guys know who are on your blind spot, or on your sides, know exactly where you are turning. Hazard lights, the same way. No matter what, when your hazard lights come on, both side of the truck will blink as well. Great for the guys out there who don't have turn signal markers in the mirrors, this will be a great replacement for that. As far as materials and construction goes, this is manufactured using some high-quality materials for the bar itself, high-powered LEDs, sitting aside a 62-inch long bar here that sits directly above where your side steps would be, whether you have them or not. Now, in addition to that, I do want to point out, this is 100% street legal going forward, so keep that in mind. But of course, it's always safe to check with your local laws and regulations. If this is something that fits your preference, you can pick one up for yourself for just about a 150 bucks. Now, the amber color we have here is one of the options, there are other color options on the site as well. Now, in addition to that, this is something that falls in a normal price range, and my personal opinion, I'd expect it to be right around the price range of a side step, maybe a little less. As far as the installation is concerned, like I keep saying in the beginning, this does require some splicing, a little bit of drilling. Overall, it will still get a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, because I do think it is something almost anybody can do, as long as you have the right tools. Now, quick splice connectors for the splicing portion are included in the kit, but unfortunately, a drill is not, so you want to have that on deck as well. Simple ratchet and socket set will also do the trick, or a Phillips-head screwdriver to get the brackets on, but I do suggest the drill to get things done quicker. Now, in order to get these installed, it should take you about one, maybe two hours at the absolute most considering there are couple extra steps with the wiring involved. Overall, not too bad of a job. Kicking things off, all you'll have to do is get this bar mounted first and foremost. Now, the 62-inch bar does come with 3M automotive bonding tape, pre-applied to the back, which you will peel off and stick into place, as well as putting the brackets into place, where you'll drill

Nice looking. Tough install
These lights are sweet when installed and working. The wiring hookup is super easy. The instructions given on how to attach the lights to your vehicle are terrible. They don’t tell you anything. The clips that come with the lights that are supposed to attach the lights to your vehicle don’t work at all. They didn’t even work for my f-150. I had to modify them greatly and resorted to 3M double sided tape and silicone. After about 3 hours of playing with how to attach them I wired them up and they are amazing. I do reccomend these lights to improve your vehicles appearnce. Just know what you’re getting into before you pay the money for them. I figured for $150 they would provide a better description on how to mount.

Recon 62 in. BIG RIG LED Running Light
I love how the lights look on the truck. It was not difficult to attach lights to truck. Hardest part was taking out headlights to connect wiring.
